Ion iON Air Pro Lite Wi-Fi Action Camera (More Than Half Price!) £49 @ Staples

Found 30th Nov 2014
Spotted this when buying a printer at my local Staples in Chadwell Heath. Looks a decent action cam with 1080p capable video cam and 5mp photos. Can be fixed to bikes and helmets, has HDMI input, can send pics to PC via WiFi and withstands the elements well by all accounts. It was £99.99 so a good deal before it ends by Cyber Monday. Nationwide.

Just a normal ion one I think

Just picked one of these up in Newport, seemed to have plenty of stock. Heat added

If you click on the link you will see it's the Wifi Version on Staples site, the OP needs to update the title! cracking deal, my invoice says Wifi version as well....hope this helps!

is there a waterproof case for this so it can go deeper than 10 meters? would be great for scuba diving

For anyone who hasn't spotted yet. The wifi version is £49 incl delivery on staples website.

Assuming the wifi version is better!!

Let it connect to your home wifi and remove the video content of the SD card without cables to your laptop/desktop if your on the same network.

I think you can upload directly to the cloud as well, will have a play when it arrives and feedback..

Hot ordered lets hope we all get the WiFi model, again states such on my invoice

How does it compare to the Hero 2014? Been offered one for £70 which would be the better buy? Probably only use it to record while mountain biking

Any idea how it compares to the hero 2014? Been offered one for £70 just after advice on which would be best to buy? Probably only really use it when mountain biking or riding to work

£99 now

Nope still £49.

Just to be clear the OP has worded the title incorrectly. It's the "Wifi" model that's been reduced not the standard model.

Anyone know where I can get a cheap head mount for this?. Staples are out

whoop whoop

Just done my CBT so will be commuting soon in central London oO so this doesn't come with the helmet mount any idea where you buy them?

Really want to get this but cheapest head mount I can see is £50 so doesn't really seem worth it.

Ordered, great find, thanks Op!

You can get them direct from the manufacturer for £24.99 so not sure where the £50 one is? Staples has them at £14 but out of stock.

Not that I have seen - I have the ION Air Pro 2 and never seen any cases for them at all. Shame really as its much better shape than those brick-shaped Go Pro for sticking on a helmet etc, but alas not as well supported by accessories.

Cheers for the remainder Griff. The title is now amended. I'll screenshot in future on sites I can't get the direct link to work.

I thought it's a nice cheaper alternative to the popular Hero series.

It still is.

And don't call me shirley...

Picked up one of these earlier today.

Seems to do exactly what is says on the tin - no tried the wifi yet - not sure i ever will tbh.

I would have bought one myself but Alas my Panasonic HC-V750 and TZ40 will do for now.

Got lucky on the TZ as it was the last display model in my local Currys.

Got 2 off these, the speed pro and the air pro, can't tell the difference and one was twice as much as the other, this was a bargain, they are so easy to use, just flick the switch forward to start recording and back to stop...

I made an extra mount with the packaging it came in!.... the box has a moulded QD mount it sits on in transit, just trimmed this off and got a cheap 99p ball mount of ebay and glues the 2 together, use it on my sat nav mount now

Not everyone is as handy or patient stealth But nicely done dude

Is there any deals for bike, helmet or generic mounts available?

Good deal OP! Was tempted by the Garmin Virb at £99, but reluctant to spend so much on something that won't be used too on often. At £50 this is a good price point and the kids can mess with it.

FYI there does seem to be an Android app, but poor reviews.
