That's completely wrong. You are explicitly not 'cross playing' console and mobile phone unless you opt-in to it (which isn't an option yet). If you play on iOS you are playing other iOS players only which makes it a much fairer game.
I will say though that unless your device has an A10 or A11 SoC don't bother as it looks pretty terrible on an iPad Air 2, mini 4 or 6s and puts you at a massive disadvantage (it runs at quarter device resolution and at a distance you'll be wondering if it's a tree or a player and then, boom, you're dead).
Also to anyone sitting on the fence, this is totally *not* play-to-win, the in-game currency is spent on cosmetic items only and give no competitive edge (other than maybe a better skin for blending into the map) - which, in my eyes, makes this a fantastic game unlike many other online phone-based games. Epic have done an incredible job here.
I'm naff at them both, so they're equal in my eyes

The console is a lot of fun. Just bought and shared that £3.99 pack.
Not sure about iOS but gonna give it a try.
Yes but not on phone as u are cross playing console and pc gamers and controls on phone are shocking looks amazing though on iPhone

Then I’m crap at it on my iPhone then ,love it on Xbox though
Only if you have latest high-end phone (iP8/8 Plus/X). Otherwise is looks and runs like crap.
It looks and runs the same on the iPhone 7-series as well (just as well as the X and 8). On anything less it's pretty bad, I found it will lag at the critical moments like landing on something (as it loads textures and stutters) or when someone is shooting at you - it's also so low-res it's nearly impossible to see bullet traces - that's why I don't bother playing it on the Air 2 now.
You should try it out - especially as it's free and there are no micro-transactions to make you more competitive. As someone who only got into it since it's iOS release, it's good fun and the controls are excellent (well, as good as they can be for a touchscreen device).
Ill give it a go at some point. The only console game that I can play on mobile is Sonic (and games like that lol).
Stick to Siege aye
Hand / eye coordination has gone to pot on everything
Getting old son
Tell me about it. They've built a whole town from wood on Fortnite before I even think about shooting
Can't wait for this and Runescape mobile to come out, then my travels will be so much more entertaining!
2gb pal
I'm hooked on this it's amazing. The vehicles are superb and when team mates drive to find you and pick you up and battle as a group it really is impressive for a mobile game. I play on my ipad and on an android emulator on the pc which is a bit naughty as allows keyboard and mouse controls.
Is that so?
Umm they hardly sneak up on you like most players in Fortnite...You don’t need IAPs to win, just to look cool.
It runs like a potato on the 6s and it is graphically quite intense as well as a big map with lots of textures. But the main reason it’s not on the 6 Plus is because Apple thought 1GB was fair for a 2014 flagship phone, you can blame them for that one!
Consider yourself lucky, it needs 20GB to install on the PC (9.8GB after its finished). I don't understand why it needs 10x more on the PC but nevermind...
I was gonna say the same thing. My friend spent £50 with a touch of a button! Be careful lol
I find that incredibly hard to believe... what did they buy with a single button press?
