Via a USB HDD yes. Changing the internal HDD is not super easy in any AIO. It's also a super weak PC worse than many budget laptops in terms of performance so whilst it can run old and low end games it cannot do so well and your 9 year old will probably want a better PC in no time at all.

Upgrading AIO computers is generally not easy.

With a Celeron CPU (very low end) and only 64 GB of memory I would give this a miss, even for a 9 year old.

Take no notice of the Amazon reviews, most of them talk about it being a laptop which it is of course not. Most of them are probably fake, or just cut and pasted from other reviews for the same company.

No, eMMC is soldered onto the motherboard and I doubt there will be any sata ports on there for you to connect another HDD/SSD unfortunately.
Thanks so much everyone! Given me the info needed went for the Coda Spirit deal, hope that will be ok?!

I would guess that and this are not suitable for minecraft. This might be able to play Roblox.

Minecraft minimum requirements are:

  • CPU: Intel Core i3 3210 | AMD A8 7600 APU or equivalent.
  • RAM: 4 GB RAM.
  • HDD: 180 MB to 1 GB available space.
  • GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 or AMD Radeon R5 series | NVIDIA GeForce 400 Series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series.
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later.
  • Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768 or better.

The "Intel Core i3 3210" is dual core 3.20 GHz

Robolox minimum requirements are:

  • CPU SPEED: 1.6 GHz.
  • RAM: 512 MB for Windows XP/ 1 GB for Windows Vista and above.
  • OS: Windows XP.
  • VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 or ATI Radeon 9500 or Intel GMA 3100.
  • PIXEL SHADER: 2.0.
  • VERTEX SHADER: 2.0.
  • FREE DISK SPACE: 20 MB.

You are maybe better looking at a refurb from itzoo for example, especially if there is a discount code, if your budget is tight for a pc.
Whilst it is not in the region of Minecraft compatibility the listing does state it can be upgraded with extra ssd/.hdd storage and looking at the picture of the back of the unit i would think the panel to the left of the stand is where this would be added easily.

I don't think the Coda Spirit deal is any better, probably worse.

Smaller screen, less memory, poor CPU.

General comment is that the Celeron CPU is the poorest / weakest CPU INTEL make.

Next up is Pentium, then next up is i3.

Also 32GB memory can be a real problem when Windows 10 tries to do a full Windows upgrade (which it does every 6 months or so).

The Windows 10 download can be very large and there is often not enough room to store the OLD Windows it is going to replace and the new Windows it wants to install.

You can read an article about the problem with 32Gb latops here

theguardian.com/tec…ook

PLEASE dont buy the Code Sprint as you will quickly regret it.

With technology you generally get what you pay for. Buy a cheap low tech computer means it will have a very short life span and you will then have to go out and buy another a few months later so you dont save any money by buying cheap low spec.

Oh dear, ok thanks for the warning, I’ll try and cancel it. Was hoping to later add memory to it to combat Windows problem.
We aren’t in a position to spend anything more than £200.x

I also had my eye on this?

I assume you mean this at Argos

argos.co.uk/pro…168

Well it is better.

Has a 15.6" screen

Has a Pentium CPU

Has an 128Gb SSD (an SSD is much faster than a normal spinning hard disk and also copes better with being dropped etc which a child is more likely to do).

Lenovo are a good make (they used to make all the laptops for IBM till IBM stopped making laptops)

If you can get one go for it as it says limited stock on Argos

If you cant get this go for something similar spec.

Final thing, dont be panicked in to buying stuff just because it is Black Friday, there will be plenty more deals leading up to Xmas
