I can confirm John Lewis price matched Tesco last week when I ordered. Oh and it's 3 years Guarantee if you order by 26/01/13. Heat on this deal anyway

Typical Apple Haters. RRP £399, saving of £30 yet gets voted cold due to opinion of product and not value.

Tempted by this as it's the UK version. Not interested in saving another tenner and risking one from Hong Kong off of the Amazon sellers. Why cold - is there a cheaper UK deal out there?

Good find OP

Give it chance man. Typical apple fan jumping the gun.

Decent find. Not for me though but it's an excellent price if your looking for one.

John Lewis might price match this for a 2yr guarantee too. Heat!

You can do a price match in john lewis and includes 2 years warranty

Great deal. I bought mine at this price from Coop Electrical last week. Very pleased with it. Best tablet on the market by a long way

Would John Lewis Price match the deal?

If you're lucky, but they are b*ggers mate. You'll probably wait four days for a reply only to be told it's out of stock now so they won't price match, or they won't price match because the Tesco deal uses a code. Try it and see. But be warned that you might lose out if Tesco sell all their stock

doesn't it have a 2 year warranty anyway?

Just been in John Lewis Bluewater. They checked and won't price match.
They say it is because it is a promotional code and not avaliable to everybody.

Shame really as they have a 3 year warrenty on the ipad air!

scruffty

doesn't it have a 2 year warranty anyway?

Comes with a one year manufacturer's warranty from Apple as standard. Can be upgraded (£79) to AppleCare+ for an additional year. This covers accidental damage.

You, of course, have your statutory rights, which expire 6 years from the date of purchase.

Great deal heat added

is it worth upgrading from ipad 2 to this?

Hmmm

So £369 with a one year guarantee from Tesco's.

Or £399 with a three year guarantee from John Lewis.

Choices choices

Hot from me. All electrical item now have to come with a 2 year warranty. As stated in previous threads John lewis offer a guarantee and not a warranty, there is a difference. AppleCare + is excellent but does include a small excess.

Thanks OP. Voted hot.

And is this likely to get any lower than this over the next few weeks?

No.

Considering 399 clubcard points, better than Amazpn price

Shame it's not Android!

Great price.

Please let me clear this up with anyone who know what they are talking about 79 quid to guarantee a new tablet every year you mean i.e. 360 odd days after cover taken out i accidently started having a shower while watching a movie or I used it as a cover while microwaving some soup. Then after the second year you can sell a “brand new, unopened iPad” on fleabag and use that money to buy the newest iPad out there? Is it really that simple? Madness if true as I am sure not many will feel sorry for Apple too much- even peeps like me who don’t dislike them still feel they make far too much using low paid wages in East Asia.

Am tempted, can anyone help as i am looking to replace my old ipad 1 which has been a fantastic piece of kit but think its time to get a newer ipa, now as there are so many ipads at the moment, mini, with/without retina now the air, can i ask what you good people would go for?

I hear ipads are voted colder due to the fact they are made from metal which conducts heat away from your hand more readily making them feel colder to the touch...

Good price.

I paid £360 for mine plus 3 years guarantee. Kik: yaspat

If you have got used to the size of the iPad1 then go for an iPad Air- if you want smaller then go for a mini (version 2)

these are selling for £352.99 on ebay as a buy it now option...looks like UK version and same warranty as tescos one...its hard to make Ipads replica so the same thing you would get but cheaper price...

Go for the air, much improved weight and design over any of the others.

Does this take £30 off retina mini 32Gb as well?

I haven't voted, but my issue with this deal is that it's just another full price product with a code.

Why not just post the code and a few of the bargains that can be had with it...

Beneath your terrible grammar, I think I understand what you are saying. Let me assure you that the information I provided is correct and that I do know what I'm talking about.

It effectively works like an insurance policy. Yes, you could return it water damaged if you take out AppleCare+. It is subject to an excess of £39, and AppleCare+ covers 2 stints of accidental damage.
