iPad Air 16gb from John Lewis effectively £369 with possible 3 year warranty at present

Found 1st Nov 2013
Ordered iPad Air from John Lewis as it includes a 2 year warrenty.

I then saw the tesco deal which gives £30 off.

Messaged John Lewis and they have agreed to price match.

So iPad air 16gb with 2 years warrenty for £369 ordered on launch day. I think that's a deal.

Edit: Some models back in stock at tesco, claim the pricematch while you can.

£399 for everyone on there site .

hot but not sure that this will continue as Tesco have stopped the voucher code as it has been used too many times!

I am also going to try for price match, nice tip thanks!

How exactly did you get them to match? I called up and they told me to go through the site "never knowingly undersold" link so am still waiting to hear....pick it up tomorrow so will try then also

Great deal managed to get them to price match the 32 gb air space grey for £449 with 2 year warranty pick up from store today

Excellent well spotted...going to JL today anyway to get as wanted 2 year warranty even better is same price as tesco.

Have some Heat!

You get a 2 year warranty under EU law anyway.

Yep! To use that as a selling point is misguided.

warrAnty

Have any of you done any research into that EU 'law'? We have the Sale of Goods Act which offers far more protection. I suggest you talk about your EU law on a consumer rights forum and see what responses you get

Although its not widely advertised all new goods sold in the EU have to supplied with a two year warranty people like John Lewis just are clearer about it but apple stores will take products back for two years

If you are trying to do a price match via a store there will not price match because it's a tesco promotion that requires a discount code which has to be used on the website only, check the price match policy which explains it.

Also apple regulate the everywhere to any retailer who sells apple products do it will be hard to find a cheaper price

This is the area of the website I used:

whaaaa tttt ??

Surely this has to be expired the price is £399 not £369 , they won't price a online voucher code and the code has expired now . Maybe one person might of got that deal but it's not available now so expire deal or change it to £399

Do you have any proof of Apple stores taking faulty products back for up to two years from the purchase date? I've never known them do this, ever.

Thru updated their website/policy recently to comply with EU law. They will do warranty work for years after purchase.

Good deal

John lewis have a great price match and warranty deals.

Independent inspections aren't gonna be cheap. Less hassle option is John Lewis, then upgrade iPad every two years.

Has anyone else managed to price match?

Why expired, tesco still allowing the voucher to be used on their website (just tried code), so deal should still be active

Original Poster

Please Un-expire (if that term actually exists)

I have asked them to price match and they wont price match a promo voucher code

No as its not out for another few weeks.

I went into store and enquired about this and was effectively accused of lying!

The lady I spoke to would not accept that anywhere would ever discount an Apple product because Apple never allow it. This despite me showing her a couple of websites including this one.

I didn't mind them saying no, but to be accused of lying??

I was stunned!

Hi I have also got JL to price match against the Tesco voucher. You have to do this online though as previously mentioned.

JL may be a bit more lenient to whose who have already purchased the ipad from JL and asking for as discount to be applied, instead of those who have not bought one yet and asking.

just a thought!

i was in 2 minds about getting a refund on my JL order for ipad air, so i called them yesterday the service person started to do a refund and half way through he put me on hold and said sorry he was told he couldn't do this and to do this instore...weird i thought,

so i went to my local JL, told them the story and they basically said .COM is different to instore and they had no way of checking .COM orders and nothing they could do ! lol

so another quick call to .COM and was told to get refund (if i wanted to) when i go collect it. Stunning that they do not have a refund mechanism for when the ipad has already been ordered for click and collect

now, if they price match Tesco id keep the JL order for the 2nd year warranty (easier to pop into JL with faulty ipad)

if not then il keep my order from tesco which i made as a backup lol

If I were you I would not bother speaking to them on the telephone, I would submit the price match online as that is where the tesco offer is
