Just got this email from rakuten. First 200 people to use the code "IPAD" only get £29 off.

Looks like free delivery and £19 worth of rakuten points as well.

3.5% cashback available at topcashback too!

First time posting so be gentle, seems like a good deal as Apple stuff is never on offer particularly current gen like this. £429 on apples website.

I wouldn't have an issue spending £359 on Apple refurbished.
Generally they are open box type grade or new returns. All come with direct Apple 12 month warranty as they would new.

16 gb £299
64 gb £359

These are EU units with UK adaptor.

Was just about to add the same, I know which I would buy, in fact did the last time this was on. The Apple one is a UK spec, the other could be non UK from what I remember with these deals. More likely to get the 2 year warranty with the UK one.

Cold for me even though I clicked hot I by mistake

Yeah I would buy Apple refurb too if was a lot cheaper than new. Would just wander about battery life maybe.

U.K. Spec is exactly the same spec just different plug which you get anyway . Warranty would be the same too.

Just thought 380-10.50 cashback (worth at least 22 if withdrawn to tesco club card and boosted) -19 off next rakuten spend makes it effectively 328.50 for a new one.

Not sure how the points work though

warranty may not be, if they are EU models they would be but just a watch out of they are from outside the EU you wont get the extra years warranty. Could even be an issue with getting the second years support on a non UK model.

Not that I am defending my deal or anything cause not really bothered but just out of interest Can I ask where you get the two years from. Always had apple phones and when I took one back after a year they charged me for repair

Website says 1 year too (not wanting to get into the whole fit for purpose/fault and point of manufacturer covered for 6 years/indefinitely conversation though LOL) apple.com/uk/…ty/

Though it appears Apple were forced into 2years EU warranty so maybe the deal for an EU unit is better

Is this about the best deal for a Pad Air 2 refurb via Apple? I would prfer that option.

I bought an standard 16gb Ipad about 6 years ago refurb from apple. Still going strong. Wife just wants an updated version that's all as outgrowing it!

Not exactly relevant to the post...

Code cannot be used on any other pixelelectronics iPads - I was trying to get the mini 2 which has crept back up in price from a low of 185?

sadly someone posted the refurbs from apple last week and it went the way Apple deals go. We bought one a couple of weeks ago to replace an ipad 2 that was getting slower but we also bought as a refurb, have bought 4 in total and would buy again.

Apple refurbs have new exterior and brand new battery as standard.

16gb or 64gb Air2? Never owned one but am thinking about buying a refurb. Ta.

I'll get air2 64gb next month. Still no sure sign of air3 ever being a thing and iPad Pro is just too much cash for the difference over an air2.
Besides just bought Apple Watch so can't have it all in a month. The missus will go mad!!!

I take it that the UK still only get 1 yrs warranty?

I'm debating whether to return the air 16gb that is still in its box to JL and get my wife the Air2 refurb for £50 more???

MarkT - After more research I think that 16gb is a miniscule amount on a tablet that can't have any more storage added. But I guess it also depends on what it will be used for. I asked on the online Apple chat about 'ipad cover' when they told me about Apple Care. I asked whether the two year EU cover was applicable and they said it was but AC included accidental cover and such. I also checked which iOS the refurb came with - iOS9.

One year AppleCare as standard, upgradeable to 2 for a cost.

6 years limitation period on a simple contract (5 years in Scotland) should you wish to rely on your statutory rights. The '2-year EU warranty' is of no real relevance to the law of England and Wales.

Plus 16GB iPad with the FAT iOS OS found in iOS 8, &/or in iOS 9 will KILL the whole of the 16GB by itself that Apple give you! (IF iOS 7 hasn't already done so already ..... )

32GB+ for any Apple iDevice from now on I reckon? (as 16GB could prove itself to be pure pants ..... ) :-(

Lol.

Ditto that!.

32GB+ on ANY iDevice (where financial restraints allow ofcourse?, lol), I'd personally say .....

Lol. :-)

PAH! I could buy a laptop with that money!

WARNING
Their returns policy- quote
"For a full refund returned product(s) must be in their original state i.e new, unused and not physically broken or damaged. •

ie BOX UNOPENED

*****Wouldn't like to change my mind within 14 days like you can at JLP, apple and amazon. (although you do have "The Consumer Contracts Regulations" formally distance selling regs,) rakuten sound like a QUIBBLE company on returns = possible BUYERS REMORSE*****

I would if you can. The Air 2 has twice the memory (RAM) and will last a good bit longer than the Air before iOS updates start crippling it. I'm looking to buy one myself for the wife's birthday at the end of May to replace her iPad 3 than now runs like a Windows 95 PC. I will also be going for the 64GB as she only uses her iPad for Facebook and casual games yet has less than 1GB free of 16GB. 64GB is overkill for her but the Air 2 doesn't come in 32GB.

Good that they have finally ditched the 16GB with the new iPad Pro. They should have had 32GB as the base after the iPad 2, but then they make a killing from their ridiculous memory upgrade prices.

Make no mistake; the EU has done a great deal for consumer rights protection in this country.

Monthly installments are a bitch. Buy outright if you can afford. It depends what your needs are but I'd go for ipad air 2, or the new pro.
