Been looking for an Air for ages but after reading plenty of information decided the 16gb is nowhere near big enough with the number of 'HD apps' around and due to be launched.

This is by far the best price for a 32gb I have seen, mine arrived yesterday! Extremely happy!

Yeah some of the apps/games are massive, i've got a 32gb and even that is close to being full. I had to remove all the movies and photos off it just so i could download more apps. And the problem is the whole family uses it so one person might use certain apps, but someone else uses some others, so it's hard to delete ones that you think you wont need.

If you can stretch i would go even bigger! (Ipad that is)

Proper bargain this. .. shame I've already too many tablets otherwise I'd buy one! .

it is good price but it does not tell you wether it is black or white !!!

Unfortunately as it stands the nexus 10 is the only thing that comes close to the quality of an iPad, and 10 inch android tabs are in a really bad place at the moment, it's just not optimised well for anything above 7 inches (I researched extensively before purchasing). That being said, if you're on a budget the nexus 10 is a good choice. That + the apple app store is leaps and bounds above the android/windows store. I'm not an apple fan boy at all, I just like to have the best technology available which at present moment is the iPad, if in a few years time it's an android tab then i'd buy that instead.

Apart from apps on Android suck compared to apps on a iOS device.

Thinking I was bored of iOS I wanted to ditch my iDevices and 'go Android'. I now have a xperia Z1-very happy with it.'I've tried 3 different Android tablets, 2013 nexus 7, LG Gpad 8.3 and Xperia tablet z. Not all of them have an sd card slot and yes Android tablet apps definitely suck. There are very few optimised apps and whilst the phone ones work, they look like crap. None of the Android tabs I tried offered as smooth an experience as my TWO YEAR old iPad. Needless to say they were all returned.

Same experience here. Had an iPhone 4s + nexus 7. Got fed up with my Android tablet and apple's ios7 so switched to htc one for phone + ipad mini retina. Android phones have closed the gap and dare I say overtaken apple but Android tablets still have some way to go to catch the ipads. Much happier now with my HTC/ipad combo.

Yep, fanboys are missing out, I like having the best of both worlds! Now of only I could find a good price on an Amazon fulfilled 32GB iPad Air cellular.....

Lol I knew this would turn out to be a full scale argument between apple and Android. The truth though is Android has so many optimisations. I have a ipad 1 and the galaxy tab 2. The tab 2 is now probably 2 to 3 years old but I can be guaranteed that due to custom roms, I could still be playing the latest Android games in 2 years. But with Apple, my ipad 1 misses out cause it cannot be upgraded to the latest firmware so I am robbed of the latest games, so it makes sense to go Android.

Customisation wise, android wins hands down. But everything else goes to apple. The proportion of people who actually care about customisation is extremely tiny though.

still no answer to my question..is this ipad black or white?

Well, the airs actually come in grey or silver. Mine was grey so im guessing that :P

Why do people have more than one tablet??

Good price in terms of being the cheapest around, but poor in terms of how much extra cost Apple charge you for 16gb more memory.

Not voting either way.

Agree with you there, same with most phones/other tablets too though. extra 16gb costs you ~£60 when you can buy a 16gb SSD for a couple of quid!!

It's ridiculous considering you can get 2 64gb Micro SD cards for the same price as an extra 16gb memory.

Seems great. Would love to know which colour... I really don't want a silver one. Anyone bought one and know?

Having just got an Android device(moto G) The customization is good. But the flip side of that is that I actually found it quite annoying to actually do all the customisation to get the phone how I liked it! Having to replace most of the stock apps, that even if they worked ok, just looked a bit amaturish..

Well, it has been cheaper at Play during their cyber Monday sale (399). But best price at the moment.

If you go android you do not need memory card cos there is not as much games as for iOS.

Although I have to say ipad 1 is about 4 years old now And a dinosaur in the tech age. Testament to Apple that you still have one. no arguments.... Just saying.

Great price and I paid £469 only a few weeks back

16GB is still perfectly fine.

The only people who need more are business types who travel a lot (meaning 32gb is also useless), and people who have yet to realise that touchscreen games are terrible.

Also, you really don't need to have all those games on your device at once in the first place. You can only play one at a time. Finish one > delete > download another (if it's even possible to "complete" these crappy games).

The sad thing is, the iPad 1 is still faster for everything else. We got a tab 3 given to us as a gift, and it's unbearably slow compared to the always-crashing iPad 1. By the time we reload safari after it force closes, the tab 3 is still loading a web page and checker boarding constantly.

16GB is fine if all you are going to is browse the internet/stream music and videos etc but if you're even half series about apps then its definitely worth getting a 32gb. As for games, there are some absolutely brilliant games available on the app store, you obviously haven't looked hard enough!

My Nexus 7 doesn't take memory cards and to rub salt in the wound, it won't allow certain apps to install. Never had that problem with the iPad. Many Android devices don't take memory cards. The 4 devices we've bought in our house don't allow expandable memory except by buying a strange USB lead and believe me, only a small proportion of users will be aware of that and use it regularly. It's cumbersome and awkward compared to having a microSD card slot which my first android phone had.

The media and forum commentators all over the internet love a good apple bashing, but android has at least an equal number of flaws across the board ranging from security to user experience, but there is no equality in the reporting (for example the Daily Mail will run a week of stories if 0.0001% of users get a headache from a wallpaper effect that can be turned off, but they'd hardly acknowledge the real problem of bloatware hogging all the memory or serious security flaws enabled by the openness of the app market).
As an avid user of both platforms, I laugh when I see people thinking they have to choose one or the other. both have benefits, and if you are discounting one (often without giving it a proper try, i.e. at least a month's use), then you're the only one losing out.

Lol. Customizing was annoying? You don't like originality? Maybe you're better off having the look decided for you by Apple.

For what it's worth I would try and pick up a sealed ipad mini retina or air on ebay, as you are fully covered with apple anyway. I bought a 64gb cellular sealed retina mini the other week for just 450 buy it now, (usually 579) and it is the unlocked version from argos. On opening it (sealed) I noticed it had a fibre of cotton under the screen, took it to the local apple store, swapped it out no problem. Check you get a good screen though where ever you buy it, any probs take to a store right away.

16gb does not cut it anymore on an ipad IMO, after the iOS there's no space left, apple should quit the 16gb especially since they upped the top one to 128gb. I always had the big ipad, and a previous air, but have actually found the mini a far better size after initially apprehensive thinking it may be too small. It's not, it's just right, even movies are great in landscape.

You can j/b a 16gb air/retina mini also and just install the marvellous app called 'iFile' along with the lightning to sd card reader you can then play all your music and movies straight from the SD card!
I jailbreak just for that app iFile only!

When I tried a galaxy tab previously, I believe you cannot run apps from an SD card anyway, only store the install app there, so you'd have to keep swapping apps in android.

I did, however a quick google search will make you stay well clear of them. Try and make themselves look like a UK company but are actually based in Hong Kong.

really? lucky me, I'm broke while try looking for one. I noticed them after read a reviewed from some website ( wire.co.uk I think ) and thought its all legit .

does anyone know if this is a UK edition or import?

the link takes you to a seller called gamescybershop.

this is the link for the nano electronics nano electonics

i would like to know if these are NON UK models. if so, would there be any issues if something went wrong. there is talk on the net that if you have a problem you it has to be dealt with in the country of origin. can anyone confirm this?
