All ipads come with 2 year warranty no matter where u purchase them

Incorrect, they come with 12 months Hardware support and 90 days technical support (one free phone call to AppleCare).

People who can't decide between the ipad air and ipad mini retina let me tell you I have both and the colours on the air is so much better and sharper then the mini

I have decided I'm going to sell the mini retina and just keep the air I purchased both as I couldn't honestly decide between the two

you should know what happen if it will brake itself - you will go through … you should know what happen if it will brake itself - you will go through hell to fix it (with Asda)if you buy it in Apple Store - in about 5-15 minutes you have new or fixed!!!!In Asda - days-weeks to fix it (and who knows how)Small difference but worth to know

Nope. Any Apple product bought from anywhere, any shop, any country, will be serviced by Apple directly.

Just placed order with Asda so fingers crossed they'll price match. They price-matched for me with Tesco last week so I don't see why not.

    Classic!

I have tried JL three times for Prix match with the Tesco IPad Air offer, and each time they say no, as the price needs the money off code. Asda price looks good, and I'm sure a two year warranty is fine, doubt many keep there tablets for three years anyway, its a pity Asda don't seem to sell the 32 or 64 gd iPad though. I will wait to see if we get a new Nexus 10 first though before I decide which to buy though.

    That's rubbish.

The UK hasn't even adopted that directive in any way shape or form.

Haven't read something so wrong in a long time.

    Not at all.

Are you telling me that all UK electronics now come with a 2 years warranty as standard like in most other european countries? That's simply not the case.

Feel like slitting my throat and being done with it after reading the first paragraph of that anti consumer rights pile of mumbo jumbo

(no offense to yourself, thanks for the link, but we have not adopted the 2 year european warranty directive).

We are left with our "6 years to prove that a product was faulty when purchased".

The part that we have adopted is only the bit that overlaps the 6 year thing....so, we have adopted absolutely nothing of it.

I appreciate the time taken to reply there. Not trying to sound arrogant, … I appreciate the time taken to reply there. Not trying to sound arrogant, though realize have a habit of doing so on the internet. But, basically comes down to...In the "warranty" section of electronics goods.European countries - 2 years warrantyUK - year warranty.I am saying the EU legislation isn't used in the UK, the part about the 2 year warranty at least. It was optional, not all EU legislation has to be enacted by member states, that is decided when the legislation is passed by the EU parliament. The link post I replied to made no mention of the new directive at all.

Sorry I was editing my previous post to make it more readable. So your reply got posted before my post now lol.

I'm just trying to learn and find the truth. Nothing personal. Thanks for the information.

How you apply for John Lewis price match?
  26. GarethThomas1975's avatar
Don't think they will match it because it's a code needed to be applied to get at the reduced price
  27. si86efc's avatar
And if they do match it, would they do it cheaper? Or the same?

They would match it. I.e. The same price. Some people prefer to buy from john Lewis because of their warranty and customer service.

I can only see that they won't match online-only or mail order businesses such as Dixons, Amazon or Play.com
