iPad Mini 16gb Brand New £229 @ Tesco Direct

Found 25th Oct 2013
My daughter has asked for an iPad Mini for christmas (so she stays off our iPad 3 lol) so following the price drops I'm trying to find a bargain, and this looks to be the cheapest available at the minute for brand new units.

To get this price us voucher TDX-CP4D at checkout - £20 off tablets over £200 - valid until 27/11/2013

IMPORTANT NOTE - If your looking at the higher capacity models use TDX-KW3Q for £30 off tablets over £300 valid until 27/11/2013

There was a refurb posted last week at £230 that went over 300 degrees so this should be even hotter?

Free reserve and collect in store available.

Please don't turn this into an Apple vs Android debate!

Black is also available - tesco.com/dir…prd

Thanks!
What is the voucher? (I mean x off x spend etc?)
Quidco possible? Or not working on Ipads?

I think what is needed here is a good Apple vs Android debate (_;)

Excellent!! Thanks for that!

Yes, out in November, costing £319. This is a deal for the iPad Mini, that had a drop in price from £269 to £249 when they announced the iPad mini 2.

Yep - and they'll probably be an Ipad mini 3 out before xmas 2014 - but your point is irrelevant it's a good price for the item.

think I'll wait to compare, I have the iPad 3 and having looked at the iPad mini I felt the screen was really grainy , the nexus maybe a Bette deal for the price

Anyone waiting for ipad mini 2 good luck as reports saying between 2/3rds and 3/4s will not get one as screen production too low.

3-4 million expected for worldwide and ipad mini 1 sold 8.9 million last year on release with shortages on that as well.

Voted hot for a good price. Just to add though, if an extra year warranty is worth £20 to anyone, maybe consider buying from John Lewis.

Superb tablet - great price

ipad mini 2 starts at £319 - voting this deal hot

Just got the Ipad 4 normal size. £359 & then £20 off for voucher, 3.5% Quidco (lets see if it tracks), earned 329 Tesco points and paid by Tesco card so some points there too..

Now I wonder how am I going to keep it secret till Xmas!!

I'd go for the 2nd gen TBH. The retina screen and HUGE processor bump (compare iPad Mini 1 to iPhone 5S here) make it worth it for the extra £90 IMO

Ipad mini 2 will likely be faster than the 5s aswell as iPads are clocked slightly higher, however I have the ipad mini and it's no slouch either, still surprisingly quick

£90 is a lot more for a small tablet that for a lot of people wont really need the retina screen or bigger processor

I have ipad, and run chrome browser, google maps, google music, google+

so it's a Ipandroid!

Hot price!

It's not irrelevant if you care what you are buying. I don't use this site to buy an item just because it's a good price. This item will be replaced by a superior product from the same company and that is very relevant to anyone buying this item. You need to decide now if you want a retina screen on your mini and whether you're prepared to pay an extra £90.

hold of until Monday and the double voucher offer starts on electricals? or is the iPad not included?

You'd be surprised at how many would rather have a better processor and retina screen, especially in a few years time. You have to think down the line when you want to sell it for something better and for that reason investing in a first generation ipad mini is a bad investment.

The processor isn't all about speed, you'll also get 2 years extra iOS support out of it. iPad Mini 1 will likely only run iOS 8 as it's final iOS whereas the 2nd gen will be supported up to iOS 10.

Yep. Cheap price but the best value is the new mini 2. The sheer power of the new CPU together with a retina screen will cope with future demands far longer than the cheaper model. Apple's insistence on sticking to a miserly 16gb base memory, is frankly ridiculous.

But tell me what the processor bump does in reality, the Mini powers through all my uses for me personally, the Retina screen would be nice I grant you that but I wont be upgrading till the next refresh. Also IMO space grey is dull and I dont like white lol.

Retina and CPU worth the wait for me too, so indifferent on this deal. They're getting cheaper for a reason.

I have an iPad 2 (same CPU as iPad mini) and it's slow. Processing HD videos for a start.

Just answered that in #25 - or at least that's one of the reasons, it's much more future proof.

It will also have the obvious benefits of performing faster for tasks like surfing the web and gaming, and there will also be a bunch of background tasks that will be better such as real-time video stabilisation when recording videos or using facetime.

I'm sure there's loads of other things too that will come to light once reviewers get their hands on and start tinkering with them.

Some things will need features that are only available in the new chip, for instance when apps are written in the future they will have both 32bit and 64bit versions, 64bit are much quicker and more efficient so battery usage will be better plus other things will only work one the newer chip, ie facetime didn;t work on ipad 1 even with the ios update, the same for this in the future.

Most current apps etc will see little / no / or negative benifits from the 64 bit chip as it has to run the code as 32 bit and thats not efficient, its in the future with 64 bit apps etc you will see a difference, speed on browsing it will make no difference but the new wwireless system might.

excellent buy, you can also use any club card points you have, brings the price down even more

If the user experience of 1st and 2nd gen iPad Mini is not discernible when side-by-side in the apple store, I can see most people saving themselves £90. I have 1st gen and will get another years of use out of it unless the new screen really is something special.

The tesco double up clubcard event starts on the 28th. this code expires on 27th. anyone know if the iPad mini is going to be in the deal?

Yeah and any info regarding a follow up to the product your buying e.g. release dates, new features, should not be shut down and should be encouraged, especially when the release date is just around the corner. If anyone's post was irrelevant it was yours.

Which one? That one was the first one I have replied to you... You are mistaking me with someone.
