I stumbled upon this deal while looking for an iPad for my wife. This is the cheapest so far I've ever seen, so better grab it while stock lasts. White colour is currently at £172.99 while black colour is £177. Still cheaper than Tesco lowest price (£179.99 with £20 code).

Hi, that's the non retina iPad mini one, has been cheaper. I would get the 32gb version with all the updates, there won't be much left.

1st Gen, not worth it

No eyes only

That's is still quite expensive for first gen! I would wait a while, you most likely will see another deal pop up!

You should probably re-evaluate your life then. Because that is pathetic.

Neither hot not cold for me. It's about the price it probably should be.

The mini 1 was a test bed for the minis 2 & 3. It's got an average professor and doesn't have the retina display that the newer models have.

This model has the A5 CPU chip in it, which was used in the iPhone 4S and touch iPods - and not the A5 which went in the iPhone 5 - despite it being released after the A5 chip.

It's not an awful device but I would look around for other options at the 180 mark - especially on the Apple refurbished site, to see if you can pick up a model 2 for similar money.

It's got an average professor .

!

Having used both mini & mini2, I would get mini 2, its a much better tablet for not much more money. For about £15 more superspeedy deal (post #1) sounds a much better option or refurb from apple store!

I'm told a hudl 2 is as good nephew says I can get free films on showbox ?

Haha! That's quite the autocorrect

Still got my lte iPad mini first gen, on latest iOS, it is a bit slow sometimes when browsing now, but still very useful.

Haven't these been at < £149?

Yet another first gen mini deal. Facepalm.

When will people realise that they're wasting their money with the first gen?

If you scan stretch to this amount, just find another £60 and get a similar-spec Mini 2; the retina screen and improvement in speed is night-and-day.

Yep. They were available from Tesco on Black Friday last year - online if you could get through to the website or instore if you could survive the bun fights.

1st gen i devices don't live long in terms of support

32GB is the very minimum needed .

Were also available for £149 from John Lewis - Got mine on Black Friday after waiting for a few minutes on the queue.

IMO worth it at £149 but at £173 I'd definitely go for the Ipad Mini 2.

As all above have said, I can see this being left out of future IOS updates also. Better of with the second gen.

It won't be long before they make iOS 64 bit only.

Haha well I guess that will make more people unhappy. I used to use an old 3GS for tunein radio on wifi permanently docked. I can't even do that now all the apps have been updated

I have devices running every major platform in my house, except Windows Phone. I'd hardly say I'm a 'fanboy'.
