Having sold my NotePRO 12.2 for being too heavy and generally big I'm looking for a new tablet. The iPad Mini is one I've considered, how does everyone find the screen on these, are they too small or just right? Would the Air 2 be something better to go for?
Better value with the 3 year warranty compared to the Argos deal posted before hot from me

These are a perfect size for web browsing. I own both and always go for the mini. You wouldn't regret treating yourself.

For touch typing the keyboard is nearer normal size on the air so depends what you are going to do. I've never manned to treat the iPad as a laptop replacement despite having all the apps so the mini is great for browsing and the regular has all the kids stuff on it.
Still expensive for a 2yr old tablet. The Nexus 9 is a better tablet for a lot less money.

It depends what you use the tablet for - I find my Surface Pro is ideal on my lap or desk when I want to type. My 8" Samsung is better for just browsing - reading the news or an ebook.
I have an ipad Air but rarely use it - it's a really nice device to use and has a better battery life than either the 12" Surface or the 8" Samsung but it's just the wrong size to be ideal for anything; too big to hold like a book, too small to type on. If I didn't already own too many devices I'd get the ipad mini for reading.

Not sure I'd agree. Google has all but given up on tablets. The optimization of some of the apps on my Nexus 9 is dreadful. You get a far, far better app ecosystem with an iPad.
People still get 16gb models? I mean with the OS and iWork apps this would almost be full.
The tablets aren't all about specs. I'm all for Android on mobile but my tablet experience was just disappointing, apps feel so clunky and there is so much wasted space. Would love to try an ipad at some point
I got the gold iPad Air 2 128gb for £349. Wifi only From eBay £50 eBay voucher back so theoretically £300. and 2100 nectar points, I Love it my fella had the first iPad Air but 16gb just isn't enough to be honest..

Funny how millions of people manage with it. It's called app management sure if you use loads of app or want loads of big games then bigger ones would be better, use apps management and the cloud and you won't have any bother. Our two have nearly 400 apps in the cloud all but 1 was free and they manage easily with 16Mb and when they need to load video then just take off apps and away you go.
Just bought myself 8 inch HD Windows 10 2GB/32GB MicroSD/MicroHDMI on a better than this newest Intel Cherry Trail X5 z8300 CPU for £66. Some people just do it wrong.
Bought to of these but 32GB a month ago with 3 year warranty with JL as gifts but set them up - what a palaver hours to update sync music and no videos.

Personally prefer my Samsung tab s with a 128 GB SD card and a USB OTG to quickly shift or update files.

Pay by Paypal. Delivery takes longer than a week. It's gone down in price, If I bought it again with 5% discount would only be like £62

Camera will not be as good as ipad though.

I'm guessing the battery life is poor?
This is a good price. The warranty gives peace of mind what's not to like. A Xmas pressie for my daughter I think. Be quick tho the three year warranty ends in a week.

For reading anything technical, you would want the proper iPad not the mini version, especially if you are planning to use a pen or Pencil.

16GB's of storage...with no option to expand.
Apple really do treat their customers with contempt when they sell iPad's with such miserly amounts of storage.
Better don't buy, its no longer smooth on ios 9.1, and lags sometimes...
My brothers mini 1gen is so horrible, cant even type text. Luckily my 2gen is still usable.

Hmmm....let me guess, you read that on macrumors.com/ ? lol

some people just don't think for themselves...
Managed to grab a 64gb iPad mini 2 in the boxing day sales on currys, for £10-15 more I think it was (maybe £225) get looking Xmas eve for pickup Boxing Day

Far better to have the memory than a 16gb
Expensive for 2yr old tech.
Bought one for my son off here last year for Christmas for £190 plus £10 points so a year on for it to be more seems expensive.
Word of warning - check the emailed guarantee you receive after ordering, I have mailed JL this morning as it clearly stated an additional 2nd year warranty, no mention of the 3 years on the ordering process.

Am awaiting a response but just to let any potential buyers know to check their guarantee when receive

Nictry... I noticed the same thing.. but if you scroll down on the mail you will see a section titled "Guarantee and Added Care Details"... I've just ordered two of these and it shows a term of 3 years.
love my Ipad mini 2, also have a Nexus 7 but all round Ipad is streets ahead. I also prefer the mini over my wife's Ipad Air

Says 4200mah but its from some dodgy hk/chinese site like dx and gearbest so i'd halve that value.
