Just after I've paid £220 for my daughters grrr
You can find it on ebay £10-£20 cheaper. Brand new.
£190 squid for a tablet that'll be slow in about a year after having had its update to kill features in ios xx. This should be around the £120 range. Cold from me... And it's 16gb. Definitely over priced.

Well, it's not legal in the UK. For sure.

Bloody hell, can someone advise on what to buy for a tablet tomorrow given that my sodding Playbook is about as effective as a one legged man in an **** kicking contest and its going to go flying out of the window shortly?

Depends what you want it to do? if you want to watch films on it ie DivX, Avi's etc then stay away from Apple, Android will drag and drop movies and play them natively without conversion add in USB on the go, MicroSD, true 16:9 screen ratio/resolution support then they are leagues ahead of Apple on the movie front.
However if you want simplicity then maybe Apple would suit better?

All I want a tablet for mainly is messing around on the Internet on the sofa whilst the missus watches her brollocks on the TV, playing music whilst I'm getting up (which the Playbook is decent for btw - great speakers) and maybe the occasional film on train or something. Tried the HUDL but its ability to charge buggered up within a month.

I have an iPad 2 that isn't slow, hasn't been forgotten and hasn't had anything removed in any subsequent updates over the years.... Every time an apple product is posted all the morons come out to convince others why they don't need them without having one single idea of anybody's requirements.
I'm not an Apple fanboy but I have this, which I got from Argos refurbished for £179 months ago; it's not slow and it hasn't given me any problems at all
I've been using one several hours a day for over 2 years and it still runs well and goes for 10+ hours on one charge. Ace tablet.

Mind you, I think it has turned me into a bit of an Apple fanboy, so best not to pay too much attention to me.

you have no idea what youre talking about. my ipad mini is the only tablet ive had which hasnt slowed down over time. Excellent tablet
I got one from the below (paid £160 at the time), yes it's a foreign model but that's only a plug change for a couple of quid on eBay (but you'll have one for when you're abroad). For those concerned about taxes, import processes are covered by the company according to their Ts and Cs so you should have no issues and this has been backed up by many customers on HUKD.

I would rather buy from a reputable seller like Argos and pay slightly more.
This model is not worth more than £125.

Again, I wouldn't spend more than about £20 on a website like this just to save a few quid. Not worth the agro when something goes wrong with delivery or warranty etc. Also, the charger you bought on eBay to replace the foreign one is probably cheap or counterfeit. eBay is full of rubbish in my opinion.

I've got this one, had just over a year. Thinking of trading it in and getting the mini 4. What sort of price do you think I could get trade it?

Sell before you have to update. Apple do tend to drop products after 3-4 years which is a shame when the device could still be useful.
16gb way to small..

Someone mentioned refurbished. Doesn't say that in the description, and I cannot get the link to work.
why dont apple just have a sd slot as well? im sure that would sway millions including me!

Meh, I have umpteen tablets (iOS, Windows and android) among them an iPad mini 1 which still performs like it did on day one. It's several years old and used daily. I'd still value it well over £100 in comparison to newer android tablet prices. E.g. I got a Samsung 10.1 note at £160 a year ago and it's so frustratingly slow and laggy I wouldn't say it's worth half of what I paid sadly.

Simple, take new unopened one back with the old receipt - job done.

Yawn
Cold not worth more than precisely 125 bones.
Android sheep mustn't understand simple economic theories like supply and demand, if these were worth only £125 then no one would buy them at £200+
Clearly Apple sheep (aka consumers) are still buying them
These get heat every time they go sub £200 yet I bought my son one last Christmas (bought oct 2014) for the same pricesish of £189.99 but got rakutan points so actually slightly cheaper. I'm not gonna vita as price is best around and that's what this site is about but surely this will drop £150 anytime soon.

Does that make them a good price? This is a 2 year old tablet totally superseded by the Apple iPad mini 4. Even if you were totally passionate of iOS it is poor value.

As for the current state of play, the laughable prices of the iPad Mini 4 are absurd when you consider the cashback price of the Samsung Galaxy S2 8" tablet which blows it out the water.

Technology wise they are not worth any more than £125.
