Why are these more expensive than a regular iPad?
May just be the wrong model they’ve got an display, but that’s an iPad mini 1/2
...these are how many years old??

It'll be three years old in September. On that basis seems rather overpriced.

Isn't everything Apple makes overpriced?!

(And I say that as an Apple owner).
That’s not a mini 4
Just had mine delivered from EGlobal. £269.99 + £8 insured postage.

I meant even for Apple
Hope they make a new one, perfect form factor for me. Holding on to mine for now with hope!
I think it’s worth pointing out that it has 128GB of storage.

You can pick a brand new iPad (2018) for around £260- £270 which is £100 cheaper than many Samsung Galaxy tablets. Samsung Galaxy have the same Android OS that most cheap chinese tablets use with same or similar bugs and issues. At least with Apple you get a more advanced IOS and excellent build-quality. Many Huawei tablets are also more expensive than iPad. New iPad is very good value for money. iPad Mini was always overpriced.

Comparing the cheapest iPad with the most expensive Samsung is hardly a valid comparison!

As I say, I love Apple products - for many of the reasons you've listed. It can't be denied that it hurts you in the pocket though.
I am talking about the latest (2018) iPad. iPads can be picked for very reasonable price now so there is no excuse for Samsung and Huawei etc to sell Android tablets for £300 plus. iPad is still a far superior product to any of the Android tablets. I think the competition is bringing Apple prices down which is a good thing. My first iPad was a 16 GB first gen that I paid £420 for in 2010. Sadly it recently died as the battery would not charge any more. Apart from that and the tiny 16gb storage, it never gave me any problem whatsoever. In recent years I have gone through many Android tablets which failed to match the longevity of that one iPad. Same with the iPhones. I never had an iPhone die on me although I've been using them since 3GS came out in 2009. They are built to last although recent iOS updates have made my 6GS a bit sluggish which I am not very happy about. iPad mini was always meant to be a fashion accessory, hece the stupid price.
