Don't forget 1.5% quidco, not much but better than nothing. I know John Lewis sold it for £299 a couple of months ago, but that is not available anymore.

32gb black is £284 using IPADM5 here currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

Personally I would pay extra £35 for double storage.

This is not retina version, but the first ipad mini.

Exactly, would you expect a brand new 64gb 3G at this price? Still a very good price for a first gen.

£10 off if u are on o2 priority + 2.02% TCB. head added. Thanks

well several million using a non retina so plenty to comment I'm sure, and I for one have no problem with mine and wouldn't rush to upgrade just for a retina display

You can read this, new iPad mini is worth if you want faster processor but double the money for the 64gb 3G?

Must tell my wife she shouldn't watch her non retina iPad

I roadtested the two side by side and couldn't spot any difference for the things I run on my Ipad. It's a bit like HD TV - many people don't notice the difference compared to a good SD TV watching the SD version of a programme.

I bought a 32gb non retina from tescos using codes & clubcard vouchers for £156,hating myself that i shouldve paid over the odds for retina,i shall take myself off to the spare room & give myself a damn good thrashing

Really thrash it

Is the Retina display worth it?

I'm used to my iPad 3's Retina display, and when I used a friend's iPad 2, the screen looked really washed out and low-res.

As this is a bit smaller, will the display still be as good as my iPad 3?

keep my money in my wallet personally but each to his own

I think it is one of those cases where if you have used a retina display for a period of time then move to a non-retina you notice it. But if you haven't got used to the retina screen you will almost certainly still think that the non-retina screen is still pretty nice. 1024x768 does sound a bit dated but the way iOS works it really make the most out of those pixels!

I have an iPad 4 and a Mini, the Mini was bought for cummuting. Even when I am in the house 9 times outa 10 I will still pick up the Mini instead of the full isized pad.

I have the retina display model and personally think it's fantastic. It's a very crisp image, especially when watching high resolution videos. Definitely worth that bit extra.
