When I had iPhones a while back all iCloud did was mirror your devices so if you delete the originals off the handset you lose or off iCloud. Meaning you still need high phone storage. Has this changed?

I’ve got iCloud and Google cloud so 64gb is more than enough for me. Plus I back up the phone to my Mac every month

No that’s not how it works.

You sure. Looking up online it seems to say that's exactly how it works. iCloud is merely a backup for existing devices except it stores a lower quality image on your phone to save extra space. Once you delete off the phone then it removes it off the iCloud.

Unless you mean iCloud Drive. Which acts more like Google Drive.

That's my understanding when I had an iPhone and what it seems to say it does now online.

My bad. I was referring to iCloud Drive.
Good deal that I nearly snapped up on mobiles.co.uk before it suddenly disappeared. Heat for finding it from another retailer! Yes it's an expensive (and yes, overpriced) phone but if it's the one you want then this is one of the best deals around on contract.
39231593-dUIjI.jpgSurely the £399 upfront deal is better?
£1191 total vs £1275 on the deal you mentioned

Potentially yes, but in my case my employer pays my phone bill (up to a certain amount) so it made more sense to get the higher monthly cost and get the handset for less, plus £80 cashback from carphone warehouse through topcashback which took that down to a tenner, effectively. So it depends on your circumstances.

You’re lucky! I’ve just rang EE as I’m due an upgrade and the best they could offer me was £79 a month with £100 upfront. Not interested at all in giving me any sort of deal. Just warned me not to go with Carphone Warehouse as the customer service isn’t as good. Needless to say I will now be leaving EE!

Did you talk to the someone from retention? I called and said I want to leave EE to which I was asked if they could offer me anything better etc etc and I then quoted this deal

EE quoted me at the weekend at £330 upfront and £38pm. Just phoned back to be told it was the 11 I was quoted on and not the pro. Idiots. Told me they can’t get anywhere near this... and they said they don’t have retentions teams anymore

It was retentions but they weren’t interested. However went through my account - switching to get a PAC code and online chat came up. Thought I’d give that a go and they’ve matched this deal for me . So much more helpful than the guy on the phone.

It does depend a lot on who you get on the phone as well, when you ring 150 choose the option - looking to leave EE

Alternatively try chatting as above, my approach was simply to say I am looking to leave as I've seen a better deal for Black Friday with Carphone Warehouse and instantly I was put on hold and he came back with a yes we can match it

They say they don’t have retentions because they are sale targeted. Best to continue to leave and get a pac code and within 24hours retention team will call you
