I've just ordered this for my wife, mainly interested if there is a better deal. This seems decent for a £1300 phone plus 2 years of 30gb data with EE, works out as £11 a month for the sim.

Remember to go through quidco or topcashback for £20 extra back and use code 10off to get the upfront cost of £770 otherwise its £780 upfront
Might as well pay the RRPif you can pay £770 upfront
You’d be better getting the phone on offer and paying outright since your paying so much up front, you’ll save £100-£200 on phones rrp and then get cheap sim only deal for less than the £16-£20 this works out.

I would totally do that if there was a good offer for the phone and the contract. Do you have a link to the phone in the uk discounted and a ~30gb EE contract for a good price?

If I was paying top whack I would expect top whack in storage and memory. It needs 8GB Ram memory and 1TB storage to offer some semblance of value.

And the camera is not the best.

what do you mean? this is £530 cheaper than rrp. I guess you mean buy the phone and a sim seperately? I would if there was a good deal for an EE sim but I can't see one cheaper than £11 for 30GB

If you have ever seen an iphone deal I don't know why you would expect that, iphones always have low ram compared with the competition but their os and far superior cpus mean their performance is usally much better than the competition. As for storage I feel 256GB is more than enough for most people, the entry 64GB is a joke though.

As for people wanting the best iphone along with a sim with a decent amount of data on the best network I'd say this deal is hard to beat but I would love for someone to tell me a cheaper way to get both.

Well, the camera on this phone is acceptable enough for most people too.
Wait for Black Friday!
Love the fact the upfront cost would buy you any high end phone on the market

8gb ram?! This isn’t an android phone!

Your correct the camera is not the best...it’s recognised as joint best with the latest Note.

Dxomark delayed publication of its data and continues to do so. A shame considering it even added a new test category just in time for a new iPhone finally, sort of, catching up in that category.

I don't really take much stock of dxomark myself but from all the reviews and comparisons I've seen the new iphone cameras compete with the best for pretty much all photo modes and captures by far the best video, so yes I'm sure owners will be more than happy with it. I'm personally happy to stick with my note 9 for now until somehting more exciting is released. Some people prefer iphones (for good reasons) and this is the best one yet and I can't find a better deal for it.
Seems Mate 30 Pro is top. I would expect this phone to hit the top 5.
However the current top iPhone, the XS Max, is in 13th place.

Well it got prominance when the iPhone was near always in 1st place there.

indeed it did, doesn't mean it's all the great, they ignor special features and modes and give an overall score even though what you might want to use the camera for its not that good for.

heres a decent summary about it from a while ago

The ignored the mode that the 11 just got, at least until just before the 11 came out.
It's funny how cold this deal is without a single better deal being offered.
£770 upfront. might as well by it out right lol.
Bargain.

why? that would be a lot more expensive as far as I have found.
just my opinion as your paying a large amount upfront. More than half.
Anyways good luck!

If I did then I'd have to find an EE deal for less than £11 a month with 30gb data and I can't see anything close.
£770 up front you might as well just buy handset and go sim only

send me a link to an EE 30GB sim only plan for less than £11 a month and I'd agree with you and everyone else saying this.

Yeh when worked out that way on a 2 year deal with 30gb it’s not bad, I pay more than £11 for 25gb on there max speed plan.

Think the £770 puts people off

Yea I get that, and I agree the iphones are overpriced £1300 for this model is loads but this seems to be the cheapest way to get it with a decent EE sim. I could possibly get it a bit cheaper getting an imported phone (might have that annoying forced japanese camera sound) and then a cheap sim from someone other than EE, but in the end the price would be about the same anyway.
-733 cold deal. It’s because your paying £770 upfront and still in a 2 year contract. November 2021 you’ll be able to upgrade. And your still paying £33pm.
Yes it’s the 256gb model. But to the majority this will never be a great deal.
A great deal is paying little upfront and low monthly cost with acceptable or good allowances.

What no one seems to understand is this is the cheapest way to get this phone and contract. You can't get a phone worth £1300 by paying nothing up front and then very little each month. I would love to pay less but it isn't possible, this is the best deal for this phone. I'd also like to get a farrari on lease for £50 a month but I'm guessing that's not realistic.
