How does this compare to an 11 pro which I own
    bargainbill's avatar
The 12 pro at this price is the sweet spot for value at the moment, I stopped buying new iphones years ago around the X when they went to silly money brand new. Now I trade every 12-18 months for something like this.

You should get £250 on ebay for a 11 pro in good condition, so after quidco this upgrade costs you £100.

The 12 pro has a bigger screen, better CPU, 6GB RAM (11 pro has 4GB), 5G connectivity and a slightly tweaked camera as the main improvements.

Whether or not that's important to you is another matter, the way I look at it is that I trade up for a 1 year newer device for about £100, likely to have a better battery than mine and generally work a bit quicker and be supported for longer.

If you hold on to the 11 pro for another year it'll likely be worth £100 less anyway so in that respect the upgrade over the long run is "free".

    80%battery = 1/2 day battery life. Honestly

Likely true. The Mrs is complaining about her 1 year old iPhone 12's battery life, being nowhere near what it was new. I checked its health - 90% supposedly. This would be acceptable if walk-in while-u-wait OEM battery replacement were possible without resort the the Cretin Bar. (edited)

I have got my phone and no scratches at all but the battery drain very fast despite showing me the capacity 100%!!!!
    in$anity's avatar
Happened to me once with one of their phones. Not an original battery? I didn't get any report in the settings for a non-OEM battery, but my handset was losing power rapidly, I had to return it.

Bought one of these on Thursday for my husband, it arrived without a mark on it, battery life was 97%. He's very pleased.

    what condition and storage?

Another second hand phone deal made more palatable by listing it as a refurbished phone with a big company. I found a second hand car on eBay the other day that was decent can I list that? How about an exercise bike I found on gumtree? It’s refurbished I’ll ask them to wipe the dust off and spray some detol on it (edited)

If they provide warranty and ship nationally and have multiple identical units in stock - I don’t see why not

    Freezing cold.

The absolute state of some of the phones arriving on the other "deal" wouldn't even give them scrap value for it.

    Cold cold cold.

Is the 13 Pro significantly better than this?

I doubt itll be that much… though i own a 12 pro and perfectly happy.
the refurbished iphone 13 pro are just under £700 still, with this its under £400..
worth the £300 or so for a few more options?

you can compare directly on the apple website.. link Here (edited)

I’m always concerned the screens have been replaced with cheaper poor quality screens. Do these guarantee apple parts used in replacements or is it just a lottery?
    Steve_BrownWp2's avatar
If your that fussed then this isn't the route for you. Get a certified refurb, you can't really be that fussy at the stated prices for these units,
  11. in$anity's avatar
I've posted my thoughts on giffgaff refurbs before - it truly is a lottery, with a huge higher chance of you receiving a crap battery/phone (e.g scratches) than a good one. I read a couple of people here saying they've got a 98% battery - that's amazing but you're in the minority! you've lucked out.

I've ordered 3-4 phones from giffgaff refurb before I give up on them. Every time, I had battery health issues. Anything less than 90% really isn't good especially if you rely on your phone a lot. I had one phone that arrived on X amount of battery health and within weeks it was dropping - clearly a bad/dodgy phone. I've had non-Apple parts in them etc. The juice isn't worth the squeeze imo.

Good luck to those who buy it , but do expect to return it because having spoken to friends who have ordered, and my own experience, and reading experiences on here, the odds aren't in your favour.

I've received mine... Condition is excellent and battery is 89%... Is 89% battery health decent or on its way out?
    stevie19uk's avatar
The phone I have replaced was at 86% but the battery still mostly lasted the full day depending on how much I used it.
I received mine today, screen and back cover spotless, but the stainless steel surround is scratched. Battery life 100%. Happy with that

128gb pro ordered last night. Arrived 1pm today. It was another “good” condition one - however arrived in pristine condition, not a scratch on the case or screen. Battery also at 100%!!
  14. BadgerBadger's avatar
Got mine today. It’s absolutely pristine (seriously can’t find a mark on it) on the outside, so was a bit disappointed to find battery health at 88%.

Still trying to decide whether I keep it or not…
    BadgerBadger's avatar
Just realised they’ve somehow sent me a 512gb instead of 128gb, so decision made: it’s staying

Nice. Just placed an order for the iPhone 12 Pro Max 5G (refurbished - GOOD) 256GB graphite for £439.

    Currently rocking my gf’s hand-me-down from about 5yrs ago (iPhone 7 32gb).

    Long overdue an upgrade!

I bought one the other day was going to wait to see the condition before I posted. Nearly bought the max & nearly went for the 256 (but wanted the colour I got)
Gutted to see 400+ degrees, but good post op👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I bought last night for my son an iPhone 13 for £395. Will the 12 Pro be better for £375?
    BaelinTheFisherman's avatar
where did you get 13 for that price? I am looking for an iphone for my mum's birthday and 13 would be perfect
  27. sunnydelight's avatar
Sorry to ask are these usually unlocked too all networks
    pc2258's avatar
Yes. It’s illegal for phones to be locked now
  28. DevilWithin's avatar
Anyone received theirs yet? Interested to know the condition as I went for a 12 Pro Max yesterday. Giffgaff seem to be a lottery when it comes to phone condition.
  29. aretwodeetwo's avatar
I got mine earlier - a small nick in the screen at the top and battery is at 90% health. Hard to tell whether to keep it or not.. be good to hear more experiences.
    DevilWithin's avatar
As per the giffgaff experience it seems you're in the middle. It's amazing how these refurb phone retailers can send out phones that are scratched to bits, slightly damaged or pristine under the same 'grading'. (edited)
