A bit unfair I think. The iphone is only £69 of that cost! If you need this many minutes, txs etc then fine. Some people pay £40 and above for less then this - I wouldn't but I'm not loaded.

check the singal in your area. 3 are decent now! huge upgrade over past year

3 are fantastic for signal now and actually offer the best 3G connection in the country

Theres a reason why Apple decided to go with them over O2 and orange etc

This deal is by far the best deal for an iPhone4

within the 24 months can u downgrade with 3???

I voted hot, but with summer not far away and along with it the iPhone 5 I would only buy now if your desperate.

I bought into this deal last September (as mentioned). Despite initial problems signing up (3's system would not recognise my account, which I put down to Santander, not them); the service and quality of coverage by 3 has been excellent. Highly recommended.

Yeah which makes the iphone £309 over 2 years. As the sim only deal for the same mins/data/texts is £25. So this is not a bad deal, just you're stuck with a contract for 2 years! If quidco tracks it works out at £203 for the phone. NUS card holders also get £100 cashback after 3 months iirc.

its a 24 month contract. thats 2 YEARS. jesus christ even the inca had calendars lasting shorter than that period. you've got to be out of your mind to go for this long a contract.

question...............

I'm keen on getting an iphone (hush now haters) but can never seem to find a "hot" iphone deal. What if every is considered a hot iphone deal?

*ever

grand for a phone?

wait a few months, pop into an apple shop and get the iphone5 then get a £10p/m sim only= total half the price to this deal

dont be muggs

Why would anyone want a 24 month contract on any phone (that's two years people!)? One way or another you'll be lucky if the phone lasts that long and you'll still be committed.

Do people actually work out what this will cost them over 2 years or is just the short term 'want it now' attitude?

Around £100 for a San Fran, unlocked free and a £10/m deal will do pretty much everything this does (a bit slower) and Android is set to take over the world over the next couple of years.

Yes, Apple make some attractive kit but they just laugh all the way to the bank at your expense. There's reckoned to be over £250 profit to Apple in every handset! Good business if you can get it.

Apple hypnotise their customers who'll sell their soul for the latest mini-update - normal competitive pressures don't apply. Just hand over your money, whatever they ask!

Yes, strange how they seem to keep their retailers under 'control', isn't it! If it was anyone else the OFT would be all over them.

I don't hate the products, just their apparent monopoly.

Probably just all the haters who don't like 2 year contracts and who think "why would anyone need 2000+ mins bla bla bla". I think its a good deal as stated above, £803 for an iphone plus monthly bills is cheap, hell you can sell the phone after 12 months for £250 buy an iphone5 and it will still be cheap, well cheaper than what other networks are offering.

Ok, so you've decided to pay £600 minimum for your iPhone 5 when released, then you're paying £10 a month with who? Tesco offer £15 a month SIM's with 500mb data. o2 Simplicity offer £20 a month SIMs with 500mb data. That's unless you go for the 12 month SIM which makes o2s £15 and I don't believe Tesco do this.

Then you get to the next point of the contract. At the end of your contract you have an upgrade. So the new iPhone 84 is released and the person who has paid up for 2 years now gets this phone for £50. Your phone you bought for £600 is now battered to **** and you want an upgrade also, you have 2 choices, spend the same again or get out the contract which if you had decided to do in the first place and want to stick with your iPhone (something which the majority of iPhone users do because they are an extremelly good piece of kit) then you will be saving money when upgrading.

Had my 3G for nearly 2 years now. Due my upgrade in a few months, going to try and get o2 to match 3's offering. They've been decent to me when asking in the past so hopefully I can get the unlimited data out of them! Managed to go from 300 free texts to unlimited texts by sending an email and requesting it as the current contracts have them, might be a case of upgrading and requesting I keep my existing contract details with a new phone.

(i know this is an old(ish) topic, but felt the need to add my own comment)

totally agree with you shipton1. i've been looking over pretty much every iphone4 contract deal around and this is the one i've settled on. my current orange contract (ending next month) is £25 for unlimited texts, 200 mins and 500Mb internet usage. this deal from 3 is only £10 more a month than i'm paying just now but has so much more included in it.

as for all thise who come out with the usual "£35 x 24months = £840, plus £69 upfront = £909!!" erm, well done, you can do sums!! Next time though, try doing the correct ones - It's unlikely any of the other networks will be able to offer a better tarrif than this for less than £25 so you can immediatley discount £600 (£25x24) from the calculations, leaving £309, minus £106 quidco = £203 for an iphone 4. Show me where you can buy a new contract-free iphone 4 for £200??
