If its not certified, then its just not worth going cheap!

Take it back and get your money refunded!!

No matter where you buy this type of cable from it will break. It just has a massive design flaw. Think I've gone through 7 now in just under a year.

Have you tried braid or braided cable? They may not actually be any stronger, but they look as if they are
I've just got one of these, it seems quite strong, it's available in a whole range of colours and it works (so far) with iphones and ipads £2.15

This connector is a typical example of 'Apple crazyness'. The previous 30 pin connector was just a simple wire to connection plug. It was crazy that there were so many connectors when so few were used but that's another thing.
If you've ever opened up one of these new plugs, you'll see a whole mass of microchips between the four wires coming in and the actual plug. The connections through the plug are NOT symmetrical! If they had been, then there wouldn't have needed to be any of this electronics (so you can insert it either way round - this is an improvement!) but no, some smart alec decided. So what actually happens is that the plug has to decide which way round it is plugged it before it actually connects the terminals! The original microchips were probably designed for Apple and unobtainable (probably) which probably explains why clones don't work as well or for long!

Yeah they are. I bought one a couple of months back and it works perfectly. Nice green colour. I paid about 3 quid.

From what I've read and from people I know, a lot of people have issues with the cable breaking when they remove from the phone by the cable instead of the connector.

Here is one they have at wilko. £2.50.

Not the same one I bought. Think that must be in-store only.

I have found that cheap cables etc from B and M just don't work. Bought an adaptor to use my new ipod with an older speaker and wouldn't work. Same things are usually in Poundland, so either buy it there and only risk losing a quid, or buy decent branded products.

Why would anyone bother with a non MFI cable?

I bought a genuine lightning to USB connector over a year ago and just buy standard USB cables for a pound, they last a lot longer than non MFI cables.

Poundshop cables work fine on my iPad 4 with latest IOS8 update. Have one plugged in and charging at the minute, also syncs. no problem. The cable bags have a CV2 5DB postcode on the label.

When a deal is posted you feel all good that your deal will go HOT. And then its posted and shot down lol

Braided ones also only work for a little time before the phone says it's not a certified wire

So strange that people moan about these. My wife and I have one each with our iPhone 5. Still on the first one, two years on. I think some users might be a bit careless

My original cables are still in perfect condition also. However, I do have children and grandchildren. Nightmare when it comes to Apple cables, throwaway items as far as they are concerned!!!! I just hide my cables when they visit.
