Found 24th Nov 2014
Another excellent O2 Refresh deal, this time on the IPhone 5

Available in the White.

Just wait for the phone to arrive and pay off the £192 for the phone plan and cancel the airtime contract. The phone can also be unlocked for free.

Worth going through Quidco first for a possible £70 Cashback (you will need to select the £36 tariff for a chance of getting this amount)

More Info on 02 Refresh terms etc here ( to save endless repetitive question )

- castara0

Note to stop further confusion

iPhone 5 are 4g enabled only on EE & Three
They will only run 3G on all other uk networks inc Vodafone O2

Iphone5s and 5c and releases onwards have 4G
- whatyadoinsucka

The total tariff has gone down from 36 to 31 so the potential cash back(if honoured) will also come down from 70 to 55.

Cracking deal, better than the 5c as the material is more premium

Darn it ..denied at the last hurdle even though I could purchase 2 of the S3's on Thursday...any suggestions ?

Surely you will be liable to pay out the airtime contract also??!

Could u give more detail please.. How this works..?
I am buying phone contract with 02?

How do you cancel the airtime? Is that not part of the contract?

How do I exactly get this for 192 I don't really get it

Don't you have to pay the first month with these o2 refresh tariffs where you cancel the airtime and pay off the phone and keep it?

Only the 5c is 4G-compatible, though.

And the iPhone 5 is cheaper at smartfonestore.com anyway.

*IF* the quidco comes through makes this a superb deal fingers crossed!!

Even at £192 my lads happy

Cheers

For a grade c refurbished phone... I'm sorry but if a company grades it's refurbished products like smartphones/cex then I just wouldn't pick a grade c..

But on saying that I don't know the condition of the phone on O2 but I have heard good things from ppl that have brought before!

Except the 5c doesn't scratch as easy, the colour doesn't chip away, and the 5c is 4g on all networks which this isn't.

5c is a better phone

Be warned O2 will try every trick in the book to make you pay more. I'm still trying to get my unlock code for my HTC One M8. I have cancelled my airtime contract and paid the device contract off. Ebay for a code if I get no email tomorrow.

premiumerrrrrr.

I bought the iPhone 5 on the original O2 refresh deal a long time ago and I get 4G coverage on EE, so not sure exactly how you tell whether an iPhone 5 is 4G or not....aren't all '5's 4G compatible?

Not according to O2 or Vodafone, although maybe that's just their networks.

iPhone 5 = No 4G
iPhone 5c and 5s = 4G enabled

I hope that clears that up
And before you say "my iPhone 5 says 4G on the home screen" yes it does but your not able to use it

I have ip5 but it only supports EE4G. Much better feeling than the plastic iphone 5c tbh

Rubbish. iPhone 5 works fine with 4G on EE and Three. They won't say 4G on the home screen, they'll say LTE, and if they're saying that it's because they're using a 4G network.

Sounds like a great deal with cashback. However:

Cashback for contract devices may take up to 6 months and is not payable on cancelled contracts.

By ending the airtime contract early does this mean its cancelled? I mean you do pay for a device plan and airtime plan so you simply fulfill the device contract. Can anyone clarify or confirm cashback with relation to this?

"Apple has announced its 4G capable iPhone 5 but the smartphone won't run on O2 or Vodafone's 4G networks.

In summary your options with the iPhone 5 are to go with EE or Three for 4G when the networks are live or use the iPhone 5 on existing 3G networks from O2 and Vodafone. If you want an iPhone with 4G on O2 or Vodafone then you'll probably have to wait for the next generation of iPhone."

How do you get it unlocked for free? Is anyone got paid cash back on o2 refresh. Tempted to buy for my wife

And can you pay just 192 Upfront cost and cancel straight out if you pick £13 tariff

You can't get these in store right? Really tempted, but I would want to see the condition of it first before I buy it..

Does refurbished mean flattened?

The iphone 5 will only work 4g on EE in the uk, the 5s & 5c were the first apple 4g devices to run on all networks...
[ee are the network that has the only bandwidth/radio wave capable of running an iphone 5]

And remember folks networks subsidise the cost of handsets to gain long term from customers, hence you buy a phone on O2 they want you to use that network, not buy it cheap and use it on a rival, same for all the companies..
I never quite understand the b1tch1ng on this topic

For those with questions, I did this last year when I paid £240 for the iPhone 5. Here's some hopefully useful info:

Unlocking - o2 will unlock the phone for free once you've requested to pay off the contract. I had to call back 24 hours later to do this

First month payment - you may he charged first month tariff even if you request to pay off and end the contract immediately. I was charged £17

Customer service - unlike EE network, o2 actually have a customer service dept who want to help. If you experience difficulty in cancelling, just call back and speak to someone else or escalate to a manager. Its highly likely that a manager will know what to do as many many people have use o2 Refresh to do this in the past

Also, I can't be sure as I can't speak for everybody but the feedback from the last deal was that all the handsets purchased were 'as new' condition. Mine certainly was

Nice price but the 4G issue kills it.

You can get 4G on EE due to the network it uses. You will only get 3G on the other networks.

And Three, the new EE (except for coverage).

On their page, the picture is of a iPhone 5s though?

I bought my iPhone 5 in March on O2 refresh. Phone was brand new, even came with brand new headphones. Apple Warranty on it was one year as if it was new, however some people got warranty only for a few months. Many people on here said phone were brand new but just taken out of the original box.

I don't know if that's still the same, but order and if you are not happy with it just send back.

I believe it's not the o2 refresh you have to pay £192 initial amount and pay for the contract even though you cancel the contract. It is not the device plan plus airtime plan.
