Was going to buy but at this price plan it ain't worth it

Got this deal two weeks ago but it was 2gb data and unlimited mins/texts -
Perhaps hold out OP for a week or two see if that offer comes back?

Seems expensive to me.

Moto g 4g plus giffgaff £10/month = £379 over 24 months with twice the data, tethering allowed and no contract and almost £200 in your pocket.

EE have this on £23.99 p/m unlimited texts and calls and 2GB of 4G. Is an out lay for the handset though, about £120. Unlimited calls is pretty handy though.

so, different phones (£159 vs £399), Pay as you go VS a contract, two different networks. yep, that's a fair comparison.

depends on where you live. the place I just moved to has no 3g signal on any network, o2 gets fairly erratic 2g and EE gets decent 4g signal.

It is a fair comparison as the phones are comparable feature wise regardless of the price. My point is you can get similar features and not be tied into a contract (Which is a good thing IMO) for £200 less, hence this is not a good deal.

You get double the storage, 8MP camera (Vs 5MP), a retina display, fingerprint technology for added security etc etc with the iPhone.
The Motorola is a great device, and some people would rather have that. I'm just pointing out a really cheap deal for an iPhone, as many people want them, and it's difficult to find them on a cheap contract.
