Iphone 5s (16gb) with 6gb Data, 1000 mins and unlimited texts

OK team, bear with me here and think this through based upon a teen childs wants and a parent footing the bill.

I have a 13 year old Son that's on my back chasing Pokemon etc and uses my Iphone at weekends. He has proven himself over a year with his old "Windows" PAYG junk and I now consider him trustworthy enough to have a contract phone.

The deal is (If you are already a BT customer) they will give you a free Iphone 5s (which upgraded to IOS 10 - but I admit we are all unsure on future proofing) PLUS a £150 Amazon / Itunes voucher for a monthly price of £11 for the first 3 months then £22 for the last 21.
(2 year contact)

This includes double data making this a lumpy 6gb per month, 1000 mins and unlimited texts.

BT is effectively "EE" network so decent connection too.

On top of this QUIDCO are offering £60 cash back for new BT Mobile customer contracts.

Link:
quidco.com/bt-…-MS

Total contract cost is £495
and you get back £210 in vouchers/cash back

So total cost of free Iphone 5S with 6gb monthly data is £285 for 2 years being effectively £11.88 a month ?

Seems pretty good to me ?

The cashback and vouchers will always be used coming up to Xmas !

If a BT customer try to speak to a customer rep. they may extend the 11 p/m for the full 24 months as a loyality discount.

I got this recently (but the lesser £120 voucher deal)... Note: The vouchers take 30-45 days to arrive so be quick if needed for Crimbo!

I know the Android lovers and Iphone haters will be burning this but I'm not bothered as I think a deal is a deal. Most people don't even post. I pay £10 a month for a under average Windows phone on Tesco PAYG so works for me.

Good call btw tbeat as most juniors don't call or text much so big data is the key here for only £12 a month. Doubt Giff Gaff and any one else can keep up. So if a BT broadband customer, just buy this and switch the SIM to your grown up kit?

just moved my broadband over to bt today and i am tempted by this myself. Very much not a teen (_;) but still need to upgrade my poorly android.

Must be free

Can the peeps chilling this give a reason ?

Yes its somewhat obsolete
Yes you have to be a BT customer to make this work
Yes its Apple and they can be more than rude when it comes to upgrades and grabbing our money
but ..... £12 a month for 6gb on EE ?

You've answered your own question.
1. You have to be with BT, and
2. It's Apple.

tge deal your quoting has either gone up or you looked at wrong price as the lower tier is the price you mention

You may need to log into your BT account.

Theres a question "are you a bt broadband user". If you say yes £5 a month off the price

Phone aside (which is free to sell on) if you have a better phone and want 6gb of data etc then with the usual tinkering of quidco cashback and an amazon voucher (always useful) it works out cheap dependant on how much you spend on amazon. Black Friday is on the horizon so ill be looking for a cheap ipad mini 2 that i needed anyway.

Would the phone be locked?

Thank you, I've just ordered for my son for Christmas, a quick message to customer service and they've adjusted it so the contract doesn't activate till Dec 25
