I was thinking about an iPhone XR but always tend to buy older models for their value. So have gone for this.

Shame its not in the Ebay %20 off deal but looking around this is still a good deal for clearance/new iPhone 7+

Cracking price and great phone. Still plenty of life left in it!
Purchased, this should be better than the 16GB iPhone 6 which I have been rocking for the last 3 years.
Very tempted but would be for my daughter for Christmas so will wait a while longer!
Ordered, thanks Op, my 6s is knackered.
Great phone have used for years and not once has it faltered, decided to sack off the upgrade and go SIM only with this handset, didn't see the point in forking out for XR either so that's a good shout OP and nice price you found! Heat
The deal has been around since early July, I guess no one spotted it so glad I posted it. I think the fact it is new rather than refiurb/pristine makes it an even better deal. Also ebay Argos and 30 day money back guarantee.

Thanks for the support and comments.

Think I’ll jump right on this...my almost three year old iPhone 7 is falling apart (had battery and screen replaced). Need to pop into CeX and see if they’ll take it before I bite the bullet on this since my charging port is getting a bit dodgy!

unless anyone knows of a better way of “recycling” phones? Don’t fancy selling on eBay in case it ends up breaking
if you are not a "fan boy", earlier today they posted a samsung s8 for a little less:

Lot of phone for the cash in terms of long term support! Scratch magnet though!
Great phone and great price . I wish I had purchased this instead of iphone XS.
iPhone 6 wont be able to get the new iOS. iPhone 6s will be made redundant next year and I expect 7 in 2021.

You will get 2 years from this before apple stops supporting it.

Sounds perfect
I tend to buy older model iPhones to get better value IMO. I purchased an iPhone X for my wife earlier this year for £580 which she absolutely loves especially the camera for taking pics of the new G-Kids. I then get her hand me downs and am currently running her iPhone XE 64GB which cost us £310, 3 years ago. I purchased that from JL and they put a new battery in it at the beginning of the year (2 year guarantee) and I reckon I could easily get another year of of it.

Obviously the 7+ is a bit of a step up for me but if I hate it I will return and probably get an iPhone 7 on run the XE for another 6-12 months.

I stopped doing phone contracts back then and we have also just switched from EE to two Sky sims £7/8GB with data rollover and VIP data added every month.

Being retired I have plenty of time to search round for good deals

Yikes several people purchased quite a few at a time and now they are sold out. I guess they plan to make some money. Shame

With the iPod just being released with the same chip and with the iPhone 7 chip being as fast as all bar the new Snapdragon I'd hedge my bet on 3 years. So the maximum any android phone officially gets (though there have been exceptions in OnePlus and sometimes Google)
Oos.
Got my pixel 3 off O2 for £300
I managed to get one of these last week for my son's birthday. Couldn't believe the price.

Mine arrives tomorrow. Must have been a good price given how quickly the last 68 units in stock sold out today, after my posting the deal having sold 3-4 units a day since begin July!

Maybe.

I wouldn’t put it past apple to stop supporting a device based on age, not capability.
They have learnt from the battery-gate event and will be smarter about it this time.

Apple actually support devices for about 5 years. Can still use them after like on android but no security updates. I use a Note 9 and XR and was stung by the 3 year android cycle when has Pixel C. It's one of the reasons iPhones hold value. Apple as per the battery slow down aren't perfect but they have much better long term support for and iOS device Vs android.
Got it today, its amazing and well worth the money.
Mine turned up too. Brand new, never opened, still in shrink wrap. Pretty impressive

I guess that is why some purchased multiple numbers of these to sell on at a profit.

I also have a regular iPhone 7 128GB (£280, refurb from Argos) turning up as well, so depending on if I prefer the smaller or larger phone I will keep one. Which ever I keep it will be a big step up from the iPhone SE I am currently using.
