Have you actually had;

5
5s
6
6 Plus
6s
6s Plus
and SE?

If so, why do you now not have an 8 or X?

I had an iPhone 5 for 4 years and the battery was abysmal. I’ve now got the 7 and got no battery issues.

Nearly perfect £380 on O2 refresh.... worth the extra £120 for a 2nd year warranty??

I made no reference to quality. Why so mad? This is not a flagship phone and costs £500. Just offering some food for thought for anyone contemplating purchasing.

Not in my experience of iPhone 3g , 4s , 5 , 6 and now 7 .
Best iPhone I’ve had yet and will give years of decent service

Apple could easily afford to offer larger discounts but they won't because think it will affect their brand by taking such a move.

I was an Apple fanboy but held onto my 6 Plus longer so I could upgrade to the 8. It ran fine till iOS11. Everyone I spoke too that had an iPhone reported similar issues too. Screen lag, battery life issues, performance issues, crashes, and freezes. In face every time I go to write a message the audio recorder opens during the lag for some unknown reason, and you can type a whole sentance into a webpage before the text you're writing even appears and then slowly populates the sentance!!

Looking at the Apple support twitter there are thousands on these issues from any iphone 7 downwards due to iOS11 (went through the whole technical support route and was told to upgrade). Even my old iPhone 4s which is on an older iOS runs faster than mine and my girlfriends newer iPhone (she's on a iPhone 7).

So dont' buy this phone. Buy the 8 or not at all.

In my experience IOS 11.2 has solved almost all issues....and I don't believe your list of problem either. I have a 6S which I have seen no problems with since 11.1.

I would still buy a 6S ... and an iPhone 7 with £50 off would be even better

People exaggerate to justify spending more money/upgrading. I'm sure of it.

I'd rather old tech than zero aftersales support and software upgrades cut off after two years.

No problem here also. iPhone 7 now 12 months old. I've had every other iphone since 3GS and this is by far best battery life.

I had the same problem with my Ipad. They make the new OS so it wouldn't run smoothly on 'older' devices so people would but new one.

For heavy users the battery dies after the 1st year.
The new fangled proprietary dual cell one in the X is going to be rather interesting long term.
Manufacturers prefer the small batteries whilst most users really want an extra dollar or so spent on them doubling battery size.

this should be the price of the 7 Plus

You’ll always get lovers and haters and people who have had problems. Either way it’s a good deal for a popular phone that rarely gets a drop in price.

The price of anything is the price people are willing to pay.

It sells well at this price.

Voted Hot - but has anyone found any good deals on the higher storage model?

I mean, I don't really have an agenda to lie about the problems I've had since iOS 11. Read up on them yourself if you insist on staying deluded, from other people that have the same issues: twitter.com/has…=en . For what it's worth I really liked the phone, my girlfriend really likes her, but they just don't work like how they did before the September roll out.

That's complete boll*cks to be honest. I'm still using my iPhone 6 and it runs just as fast. Every time iOS goes to a new iteration, its takes a few weeks to iron out the issues.

That's great for you, but you can see for yourself how iOS11 still isn't fixed for many users using iPhone 7 and below (it's been 2 months since it rolled out btw): twitter.com/has…=en

There's even a ton of articles on said issue if you google iOS 11 and any of the older phones: forbes.com/sit…fe/

The Guardian found it near impossible to make the battery last a day.
It depends how you use it. Apple chips have similarities to Intel ones with watt needs to match.
Saying that, the heatsink is suitably brilliant.

So based on your personal experience, and someone elses online, you can sufficiently conclude 11.2 has fixed all the issues raised in the article i linked to (about 11.3), the hundreds of Apple support tweets i linked too, and my own phone which was turned into a shadow of it's former self.

As you said; "That's complete boll*cks to be honest".

Honestly I'm not making this up. My phone started getting slow and exhibiting the issues I listed straight after the update, including my girlfriends iPhone 7 (like the one listed in this deal). I googled it and lots of others have the same issue. I read articles looking for a fix (factory reset, etc, you can't roll back) but none is available despite several updates from Apple. I contacted Apple support and despite a lengthy conversation they could not fix it.

Thus I saw this deal and based on the above I would heavily advise against (go for an iPhone 8 or above, if at all), due to iOS11.

You can find issues for any phone you like if you look on Google. I'm pretty sure there's someone out there whose phone has turned into a potato.

A major update like this can have complications for some users. Usually this can be fixed by backing up and restoring, which is a very simple and thorough process on iOS. This will recompile all the libraries and fixes updating issues 90% of the time. This is just as true with Android - I always restore after a major update, and will be doing so with my Nokia 8 when Oreo rolls out in the next day or two.

For the record, most of my family use iPhones and none of them have spoken to me about issues since updating. I'm the designated phone specialist in the family so I'd be first to hear about it! I don't believe the guff about planned obsolescence - Apple famously goofed with the iPhone 4 update but generally devices have been updating really well over the years in my experience. *Obviously* each update will bring with it a performance hit, since the OS is doing more in the background, and certain features will demand more hardware resources - such as Oreo's new PiP feature.

My iPhone 7 is no longer my main phone - I'm using a Nokia 8 and G6 - but I've had no issues at all since upgrading the 7. It was a dumpster fire in the early beta stages but has been solid for me since the penultimate beta and the GM.

I can only speak from my own experiences and those of people close to me. I always take online forums about issues with a pinch of salt, since there are a LOT of people in the world and Google search results encapsulates all the bad experiences into one window.

I’ve still got a 5s as a work phone. Battery is admittedly carp.

My 7 recently got replaced on insurance (I smashed it by accident) and the new replacement battery is even better. Up to two days with conservative use
