iPhone 7 Perfectly Fine 32Gb O2 Refresh - £303

Just noticed, O2 have dropped their prices for Like new iPhones.

The best deal I could find was for iPhone 7 32Gb Perfectly fine, Tariff £109 upfront and £33 plan for 5Gb. This brings the cost to £7*24 + £109 = £277

Using the usual O2 refresh trick, you can request the unlock for free, pay the remaining balance upfront and call to cancel the airtime before your 14 days return period is up. Even if the CSR insists a 30 Days notice, you end up paying the £33 for 1 month, making the phone's total cost = £303.

I know a new iphone is coming soon, but at this price, iPhone 7 is still a good choice and you get a full 12 months warranty from O2.

refresh how to guide.

iPhone or not, paying £300 for a phone that could have up to 5 large scratches on it isn't my idea of a great deal.

done it on 4 different phones and theyve messed up 3 out of 4. once they charged me with airtime for the whole duration of the contract and the other 2 times they charged me one months airtime . Just phone and request cancellation of the airtime and pay off the mobile phone after youve activated the sim and requested the unlock preferably via myo2 app.
if you do have issues like I had , fire off an email to their complaints department who are usually really good and more than likely you'll get a small compensation of around £20.

Agreed. The problems are usually resolved after you've spoken to a few advisors but expect things to not go smoothly with this kind of thing.

Make sure to cancel the direct debit when you cancel the airtime.
I ended up having to call them 3 times over 3 months when they started sending out you must pay off the full airtime balance emails. I wouldn't put myself through that again

They charged me something like £300+ cancellation for cancelling early then tried to blame me for not cancelling the direct debit.

I tried to explain it would have been even worse if they had tried to charge me and failed due to me cancelling the direct debit... Then I gave up and just let them refund me.

It shows on the credit report as closed account once you pay off the credit.
How do you get to the £7 per month bit?

How do you get to the £7 per month bit?

If you scroll down after selecting a tariff it shows the breakdown, eg. £7 for phone £16 airtime or whatever...
Does the rose gold 32gb work out the same, or more?
Too much hassle for me but good luck to all doing it...

Maybe you are right. I recently got a phone like this and cancelled my contract after getting phone unlocked and paying it off. But these cheeky people took money out of my account. I called my bank the next day and was immediately refunded by the bank. But not sure by cancelling this direct debit, O2 can put a negative mark on my credit report.

Hi. Would you kindly share/send that email please?

Should this not be £277 rather than £303? I believe you are within your rights to cancel the airtime within 14 days as a cooling-off period? I presume paying the device off will have no affect on this?
I am tempted myself but know this won't come with headphones and I won't be able to use my usual headphones. Will need to get a decent pair of Bluetooth headphones.
I have already tried the Chinese Bluetooth headphones from Amazon and they are no good.
Thank you everyone

Is this the correct deal ?

Probably because your credit isn't so good, so they want some money upfront. Had to do it with o2 once when I had just moved and my name wasn't on Electoral Roll.
