Most of us already know how this works. This is a nice way of availing a prime handset. But beware of a temporary impact on your credit scores.
You need to click the 3GB 129.99 upfront payment option to get the device price of 417.99 (129.99+ 24 x 12) and that is if you play it right. In short,
1. order this deal online,
2. on the day you receive the phone make a chargeable or included phone call with the supplied O2 sim,
3.Request sim unlock online.
4. pay off the device plan and cancel the airtime plan. you will not be charged 24 months airtime or 1 months airtime (some cs advisor may charge this, if so call again for another cs ). The only charge can be pro rata. £1 or £2 based on which day you cancel.
I bought about 10 O2 refresh deals over the last few years and never paid anything extra.
( I was once charged 24 months airtime which was later refunded)

update 9:01 pm 10 Aug 2017: it seems Black is OOS but Rose gold is available on this deal

Ah thanks had it on perfect
Not bad. Theyre similarly priced on ebay but obviously without the one year warranty!!
'Temporary impact on credit score'. That's due to cancelling the airtime right? How long is temporary? Hmmmm P.S. Why would some CSA's charge for airtime?
    cant find the £417.99?

    The same here
I don't see why there should be any impact on credit score since they full well allow you to cancel and pay off anything that is due to them. However they did one better they put a black mark on my credit score AFTER they took payment for the device TWICE! I got the refund back immediately but took 8 Months of battling to get the credit score corrected. Certainly wasn't worth the saving.

They shouldn't be allowed to put a black mark it should be a third party they need to report to first and give us the opportunity to fight our case before a black mark is allowed

How does the phones that come "perfectly fine" looks like ? Scratches, dents or it's actually pretty good deal?
Affected my credit score badly when the deal for the S7 was on here a year or so ago and tool me a few months to get my money back from O2. Cold from me.
Been waiting for this for a while, does it have that much impact on credit? I did this last year, did really feel it on the credit score. I guess if your applying for credit sometime soon it would be a good idea to stay clear.

CANT FIND THE DEAL? step by step anyone?

I can confirm that. Even though it states perfectly fine the phone comes as new.

They may look good on the outside. But its what is inside that counts. I had an awful experience with "Like New" from 02. The phone was actually 14 months old but looked brand new. After a couple of weeks it kept shutting down. After a chat with Apple in the apple store, they said it had "multiple hardware errors and was in a shocking state. It took 02 three months to deal with it and that was only because I shamed them on their Facebook page. I would never buy a second hand phone again after such a bad experience.
Just a small warning. Make sure you cancel the direct debit right away, they attempted to charge me £27 for the cancelled contract and then £525 the following month! I didn't even take the sim out of the packaging and cancelled it within 7 days.
It's a good saving but the damage 02 can do to your credit rating and sanity makes this deal a bit of a pita!

Random question: How do you check if you have a black mark on your credit score? Thanks!
There always seems to be a lot of debate regarding credit score any time these O2 Refresh deals come up, with some people reporting negative bad past experience and some not.

Perhaps the people whose credit score was affected by it didn't follow the correct cancellation procedure, or it's purely the luck of the draw?
Tempted is an understatement, managed to sell my iPhone 6s for £355 when I got the 7 for £277, so in fact made a profit. Always wanted a plus version so might get it. These Refresh deals are killing me

I'm very happy with the purchase. thanks.
Tempted as I'd be able to sell my 6s Plus for about £300-350
Very tempted by this.... But a similar O2 refresh deal almost cost me my dream home last year as it took my credit score right down to red! But I am not applying for credit in the near future so credit score will have enough time to recover.... oh what to do? My gut says its not worth it!
Just wondering - if the phone develops a fault at all and it is swapped out, where do you stand regarding the phone being locked?

    Thanks.
This would have been tempting had I not just got a bargain black 32GB iPhone 7 Plus from a local recycle store.
I recycled my iPhone SE (cost me £102 from O2 refresh) for £185 and added the money on top to get the iPhone 7 Plus.
Allowing for the profit from the SE.. it cost me £330 for a "like new" fully boxed iPhone 7 Plus with Apple Warranty reamining until March 2018.
The 7 Plus is a "huge" upgrade in every sense of the word!

If Apple replace they do like for like "lock status" replacements.
If it is O2 it will most likely be locked to O2 again.

I done this when i got the SE took it to apple who asked was it unlocked i said yes and they replaced the phone with an unlocked handset somewhere it showed that it was unlocked, but im another one who got a black mark from 02 only they charged me an early redemption charge of £700 which they took from my account, my bank reversed the transaction as advised by o2 but it went down as a missed payment
