Anyone know if the phones from sky are network locked?

£27 per month is just for the phone before you add on minutes, text and data

This seems to be a 12 or 24 month loan where you give it back at the end of the term.

In the faq it says they are unlocked, but with apple devices they are "locked" but easily "unlocked" by pressing network reset (to clarify, I don't mean it's "locked" it's just a settings that's just there than can be easily removed by pressing network reset)

You have to add a phone plan on top which is a minimum of £5 a month for 500mb.

this "deal" is all sorts of messed up.
Swap24: 30-month loan agreement required, unless you pay for your phone in full when you order. Swap12: 24-month loan agreement required. A plan subscription is required throughout the duration of the loan

Virgin doing it £29 month and don't have to give back BUT 3 yrcontracts

why do we have to continue paying for the phone from month 25-30?

Voted cold as you return the phone back after 2 years, all that money wasted and you don't keep the phone

Because you're not paying for *that* phone, you're paying to be part of their phone loan programme for a set duration

I sell phones for a living. I can confirm that the above statement is nonsense.

However phones distributed from Sky are indeed Unlocked to all networks - they do not lock to the first sim, like phones from Carphone Warehouse do.

Phones from Three and BT are also unlocked to all networks.

Every other network (O2, EE, Vodafone etc) sell their phones locked to their own network - and each have their own unlocking policy. EE being the biggest pain in the arse of them all.

Hope this helps.

By then the iPhone 10 will be out, apple fans will be sleeping outside …By then the iPhone 10 will be out, apple fans will be sleeping outside apple shops to ditch their less than 1 year old iPhone 9 to buy a £1500 newer cooler looking one outright, or on contract for £120+ a month, and iPhone 8 will be dated technology. What I'm trying to say is, Apple fans are accustomed to wasting money

Iphone 10 (Iphone X) is already here...

I'm sure you spend money on things others deem wasteful.

You’d rather pay an extra £50 if your paying that much and GET TO KEEP THE PHONE FOREVER

My iPhone 5s was NOT Locked .... So I would take a Chance ... that's Close to a 15 year old monthly Contract Price Back when , picture messaging & Phone insurance was ALL included in the Price although the phones Motorola V3 , Nokia 32 & 3310 , or the Samsung A300 flip phone. Oh showing my Age Now ekk ekk

iPhone's from Carphone Warehouse no longer lock to the first SIM put into the phone, they stopped this a few months back.

Why? Most are accustomed to getting a new phone every 24 months anyway.

Yes but at least after the 24 months you can pass it to your kids or whoever you want or make abit of money and sell it on somewhere like eBay or gumtree instead of having to give it back

This deal isn't £648, it's £807. The Swap24 deal is is a 30 month contract. £27 p/month for months 1-24, £26.50 for months 25-30. So (£27 * 24) + (£26.50 * 6) = £807. So your paying £108 over the RRP of £699 for the privilege of taking the mobile from Sky.

Also, this doesn't include any data, calls or texts. £15 p/month for 5GB data, plus free calls and texts if your already a Sky customer, £10 p/month if your not, isn't a great deal.
