A man of many words

Not being funny but a second hand outdated phone at £706.99 is a terrible deal.

Can get better spec, brand new flagships for that kinda money or less.

These have been out less than a month and have the best benchmark scores ever?

Benchmark scores mean nothing and it's also the only specification worth noting, every other specification has been massively surpassed by every manufacturer.
It really is a tired old design.

Your opinion is, of course, valid, but is of no relevance whatsoever to this deal. It’s showing a three week old phone with a discount of almost £100, which will be very welcome by some, so I don’t see it as terrible at all.

If people must cling onto that iPhone train it's cheaper here and here

Not sure why the hate, some specs maybe surpassed but, apart from the large bezels it actually seems better value than any android phone at the moment.....and I HATE apple usually!

Better value than a Galaxy S8 brand new for £100-£200 less or a HTC U11 for £100 less or an LG G6 for £300 less or a Galaxy Note 8, again brand new for similar money ??

It's all about individual choice and the OP did a good job of highlighting what looks like a decent deal. You yourself found great pleasure in sarcastically pointing out a couple of places doing a better deal. That's good too. Just because it's not your cup of tea, why the hate? No need to comment at all, really.
Edited by: "007heaven" 13th Oct

Of course it's down to personal choice and everyone is free to purchase what they want.

I don't hate at all I'm just opinionated and like to share my opinions lol....clue's in the name

Your constant 'contributions' to iPhone threads are not all that helpful in my opinion. Starting to wonder if you're a troll. Perhaps you just feel you are on a mission to enlighten iPhone 'sheep' though. Who can say.

Either way it's clear that your obvious dislike for Apple doesn't disgust you enough to stop you wanting to participate in threads like this, even though you have no interest in the items themselves.

This is £90 less than RRP. It's a good deal if you're after an iPhone 8. Not sure why you have a problem with this. Very much irrelevant whether you like the phone or not.

People aren't coming to deal like this to hear Android lovers' opinions of how bad iPhones are you know.

I'm not affiliated with ANY phone type, I've had 4 iPhones, 2 Windows phones and 1 HTC Android and 1 Samsung Android and 1 blackberry.
My "Contributions" as you call them are around value for money, I don't care what brand of phone this thread is about 11% reduction for a used phone is very poor indeed, this type of discount can be had on a new phone from various manufacturers.
As you can see from above I've had more Apple phones than any other type so to say I'm a hater is wrong, yes I do "contribute" to Apple threads and I will continue to, so if you don't like it block me see if I care.

The point was that you don’t contribute; you just seem to moan about Apple. The point of threads like this is to find good value for money within a given market. The iPhone market is not the Android market - the two are not interchangeable insofar as a lot of people wouldn’t want an Android and don’t care how much better you or others say it is. Within that remit this is a good deal.

I DID contribute I posted two cheaper deals for an iPhone 8 plus if you care to read my "contribution".
I didn't moan about Apple I moaned about poor value for money and outdated design.

I also posted two cheaper prices.

So in fairness I've contributed much more to this thread than you!

Your first link includes no 64GB unlocked models and the second is £709. So I’m not sure what point you were trying to make. Even if it was well-meaning, preceding it with that remark about ‘clinging onto the iPhone train’ is so dismissive as to take away any sense that you were trying to offer a meaningful contribution - or at least that’s how it comes across to me.

How is moaning about poor value for money and outdated design *not* moaning about Apple? I don’t understand why you even *look* at these posts to be honest. You seem baffled that anyone would find Apple products to be worth the money but at the end of the day it’s their money to do as they please and any saving on the product people choose to use and enjoy using is surely a good thing isn’t it?

At the time of posting there both links had 64gb iphone 8 plus, items at £639 so it was valid contribution.

I don't understand why you think that your opinion is more valid than mine?

I'm entitled to browse deals and comment just as you are. Just because you think it's good value it doesn't mean I have to.

I’m not saying you aren’t allowed to comment, I’m just baffled as to why you engage in posts for products you have no interest in buying. I don’t go on Gucci threads and tell people they should be shopping at Primark.
Some people don’t like using Android devices and enjoy using iPhones. iPhones costs a certain amount of money and if a saving can be had then that’s a good deal for that person.

Also both links did not have A grade iPhone 8 Pluses for £639. I had an A Grade 8 Plus in my basket at Smartfonestore yesterday afternoon and it was £709. I assume that is the same one currently listed. I’d be surprised if Envirofone had an A grade unlocked for £639 too as that doesn’t tally with the rest of those prices.

What makes you think I have no interest in buying, I check most threads to see if there is any value for money to be had, there never is so I state my opinion on that fact, it's my right just as yours is to comment also.

If I visit a thread that I perceive as good value for ANY product, Apple included I will buy.
I already have two iPads and a Macbook Pro but since 2014 (my last iPhone) I have not seen an iPhone that was innovative enough to warrant the premium over other providers.

Can I ask you a question?

Do you think it's morally acceptable for a company to have such huge profit and wealth to the point that they could end world poverty, but yet refuse to offer even the slightest discount?

To answer your point: no I do not think it is morally wrong. They sell things and make a profit. They have no obligation to be charitable - although they do contribute to and support various charities. I don’t give money to charity at all so I’m not really in a position to criticise *anyone* in this front.

I think you’re too hung up on how expensive they are and it makes you come across as bitter, whether you are or not. One thing that is impossible to argue with is that Apple offers the best service of any phone manufacturer. For that service you pay a premium - just like shopping in M&S.

Anyway, I think this has been done to death now. I was just wondering why you feel the need to comment on so many Apple threads when you’re so cynical of Apple - it wasn’t a call for you to stop commenting on things.

Well I think you’re wrong but I can’t prove it so we are stalemate on that one

I’m more excited with the 6S plus I purchase today for £225 on iOS 10.2.1, Saigon just released a new JB. Boooom
