Your maths is about as good as mine;

My bad. Long weekend.

Going back to the deal, isnt that on the Sky's swap deal where you dont get to keep the phone at the end of your contract?

I would if it had a lemon on the back

From what I understand, after 24 months, you payment changes (I think the call/text/data payment is removed) and you continue to pay just for the phone for the remaining 6 months.

I have read the T&C's a few times to try and understand and I think that is it.

It's starting to get chilly ❄

30 month contracts are a thing now?

If you can’t wait for the price to drop then its a good deal compared to the other networks.

Not putting this deal up as it will go stone cold but the best monthly deal I have found for the iPhone X 64gb is:

iPhone X 64gb
Unlimited Mins, Texts, 3GB Data
£510 upfront, £27 per month

Adds up to £1158 meaning after phone cost the phone plan is only £6.60 per month

Thats on 02 through mobiles.co.uk

Virgin Mobile have a 36 month one! HERE Contracts more than the standard 24 months, seem to be creeping in to slowly become the norm?

I took out the following deal today with Vodafone (it's a business deal though, so won't be useful for many):

iPhone X 64GB (Silver)
2 year warranty
Damage Insurance inc. Rapid (Phone repaired or replaced within 4 hours)
Unlimited Mins
Unlimited Texts
2GB Data

£51 per month + £166.67 up-front, with a total cost of £1390.67. Those are VAT exclusive prices, of course.

It's £391.67 above the cost of the handset BUT as that includes extra warranty and damage insurance, it works for me!

HEEEEEEEAAAAAAATTTT!!(cheeky)

Yes I queried this. You can go for the regular 24m contract if you want to upgrade your phone at the end of the 24m and swap the X for your upgrade (essentially recycling as many other networks) or if you want to keep the phone you have to add another 6 months on to the duration as gr1340 said at a slightly reduced rate. I was told though on the phone by Sky it wasn't the whole data cost £15pm that was deducted for the last 6 months though, only a small amount (he said a few pounds).

Also, haven't seen it mentioned in the comments but I was told the 25% off data/calls package was only for the first 12 months then it reverted back to full price (£15 for 5Gb). The prices increase by £5 per 5GB, so e.g. 10GB was £20pm for the calls/data, reduced for first 12m to £15.

Lucky me with £175 account credit & a half price data plan (Staff)

Still expensive for a phone though, I got the s8 for £36 a month through EE just by going in store and chatting with a member of staff. That includes unlimited mins/ unlimited texts and 8gb data plus the EE freebies. To me anything over £45/month for a phone contract us a joke

The fact that you own a S8 says it all, you stick to ford and I’ll stick to BMW.

My deal on EE is £230 upfront 51.09 a month 24 months £1456 (unlimited mins&texts 15G data)

You can't mix ex VAT and including VAT prices, the X is £832.50 + VAT, you're paying £1390.67 + VAT so your deal is really £558.17 + VAT more than the handset cost.

That's a good point but it doesn't change the end result for my business.I couldn't quite bring myself to buy such a phone without having some extra coverage on it. It would be very easy and very costly to damage.

My home insurance has a high excess of £200 for iPhones, plus I'm not sure about claiming for an item that's owned by a business, even though it does cover visitors, which perhaps the business could be considered, as it's registered at another address. However the partners in the business both live at my address, so maybe not.

So rather than figure that grey area out, I went for the Vodafone contract.
