Still good but won't vote up as the value is too damn high. Not worth it in my views.
I remember when the iPhone 5 came out in 2012, i got it a few months after release and the cheapest contract was around £1050.

On a side note, In comparision, the cheapest deal on the Samsung S8+ is approx £222 less than this deal.

You’ll certainly need more than 3gb if you’re buying this not just for showboating and actually using it...

that's a much better deal. Even that's 6 years ago, too much competition in today's age. You have Nokia 8, XZ1/XZ premium, G6/V30, Note 8/S8+ top dogs right now.

Agreed. At this price you'd expect more than 3gb.
No doubt this deal is way much better than any we will ever find on the high street.

3GB is sufficient for most people that have Wi-Fi at home and at work, I have the Samsung S7 Edge on a 3GB package and barely ever go over 1GB.

The phone outright is £999, so you're basically getting the sim for £4.08 per month.

5GB is available too with EE for an additional £140 overall.

got you .. deal. not the phone.
you should expire the deal though, it's going to get vote over -200.
I honestly cant fault this deal. For anyone who wants this phone and is happy with 3GB of data, this works perfectly

True, the Samsung S8+ for the average user is a better deal.

The benefits of the iPhone X to me though is that you can do 4k video recordings at 60fps whereas the s8+ only does 30fps. Some apps on IOS tend to run better compared to the android versions and some new apps tend to come to IOS sooner. Apart from that there's no other benefit for me.

Although i posted the deal and admittedly completed half of the order process, I cancelled it as I'm on the fence on what to go for, as nothing really stands out. I'll probably go the phone shop this weekend to view them.

I get you. I have Note 8, S8 plus, 8 plus, Nokia 8, S7 active, S7 edge, mate S, Axon 7, XA1 ultra. Had One Max, V30, G6, S8, 7 plus, note 5, v20 recently but sold them off. There's HTC U Ultra, Nokia 8 on low prices right now.

What would you say is the best current phone to buy? I may wait to see what happens with the S9 release, rumours are that it won't be available until August though.

S9 most likely somewhere in early April as usual. That's a tough question you have asked. V30 for the battery, Audio jack and camera. Nokia 8 for fluid experience and speaker quality, IPhone for gaming and video recording and bassy and loud speaker. Note 8/ s8 + all rounder mostly the feel. The rest very good.
As a total price it's a 'good deal' but I'm going to go out on a limb and say many people who 'must have' this phone also aren't in a position to be spending the price of a half-decent phone upfront in the first place as well as £27 per month on top! Therefore you're more likely to hook them with a £60+ per month contract and no upfront cost. Some people will treat a phone contract as 'interest free credit' on the actual handset they want. And then as others have noted, the data is a bit stingy.

S9 is rumoured to be a rather boring and incremental upgrade over the S8 - not the same as the S5 (plastic fantastic) to S6 (premium metal body) or S7 (traditional bezels) to S8 (Infinity display/small bezel) was. Have not heard any availability issues that far back, I don't think they would announce it in February and then wait 6 months to get it out there.

The cheapest '3' had the other week was £68 per month with a big upfront cost!

IPhone X, the mobile phone 'inspired' by the Xiaomi Mi Mix, launched in November 2016.....
should be cheaper by now, demand is falling already
Aaaand all the fandroids are climbing out of their holes.
Would be be a great deal if more than 3gb but only a good deal due to this.
Voted cold 3gb is a joke. If it was 3gb with binge or something it would be fine but I would use that in 3 days.
