For those who like low cost & flexibility and dont mind a refurbished phone look at refurb phones from music magpie. They offer 12m warranty and a wide selection of phones .

In addition for purchases over £99 paypal credit are offering 0% interest over 12 or 18
months.

You can then purchase a cheap 30 day rolling mobile tariff for £5 per month with plusnet (this is the ee network so if an ee phone is cheaper you may want one on their network rather than sim free/network unlocked). As an existing plusnet customer you are eligible for 2gb data u/l texts and 750 minutes. They also offer this deal to non plusnet customers for some reason. This tariff should be suitable for most users. If not they have other options e.g 5gb for £10 per month.

A great feature (like tescos do) is that you can also cap overspend at £10 to avoid bill shock. Ive paid too many charges for excess data usage and calling premium numbers.

For those who dont like EE checkout giff gaff and tesco mobile for cheap o2 alternatives. Or ID (carphone warehouse) if you prefer the three network.

I'm not a fan of Vodafone, so if you want this your on your own. I think talktalk use Vodafone though.

price justification:

iphone x 64gb £799.99 (spread over 18m via pay pal = £45.44 per month. Add £5 per month for 30 day rolling sim only deal and it equals £49.44 or £889.99 total over 18 months.

Loads of combos with phones/tariffs that can be done. Just remember you need to spend over £99 to qualify for interest free with paypal credit.

Hope it helps someone save some money versus and off the shelf rip off deal from the networks direct.

This is a really good deal
Smartphone for almost £900 isn't good deal, sorry.

Its all relative. For a phone that costs at retail ~£1k this is good.

Same as a car for £100k or £300k etc. If that’s what someone wants to soend their money on then it’s fair enough.
Like for like this seems like a good deal.
Would be red hot if the GB per month was higher, unsure who can cope with only 2gb.

Don't care. This site is about deals off RRP. Not what android fans think of the device

I agree. See this link that got boo'd off though.

The point I tried sharing is about building your own mobile package. Buy a used phone with a warranty on 0% finance and a cheap sim only deal and you'll be quids in. Phone , tariff, network and contract term can all be tailored to the buyer's preferences.

I'm not android fans. This is refurbished mobile for almost £900 is cold for me.
I dont use iphone myself. Personally, if was buying for self Id have a refurb s7 on an 18m 0% finance. With the sim thats £18.33 a month with no upfront for a decent phone on small budget with minimal risk

Can add 5 quid a month to up to 5GB p/m still 30 day rolling.
Terrible. For the price difference to new, why on earth would you risk a second hand version through music magpie?
It's not even official shop, it's not "pristine"...
No.

Oops didn't see the £50 discount at the bottom, my bad
I have this phone and would honestly rather spend the extra for a proper brand new one, if your gonna spend this much on something I’d rather chip in the extra for a brand new one, also when you add on the tariff you might as well get a new one on contract.....

2gb? I watched YouTube on my IPhone X for 1 hours when I got it and I used 2.1Gb, I mostly blame YouTube for there numerous ads I have to load however even without YouTube I’d like to see anybody cope with 2gb.... I was struggling with 2gb 5 years ago and things have become much more data hungry since then

Videos eat data full stop. I have 10gb data p/m and I don’t watch videos much because of it.

I have a iPhone 7 that’s a refurb and it’s like new and I therefore believe the lesser cost is worth it.

However I wouldn’t agree with the iPhone X being refurb

Altho I do want to agree with you I have the iPhone 7 that is jail broken, which blocks all YouTube ads and overall I used 20gb a month that’s including all normal Facebook, WhatsApp etc usage + 5 hours a week on YouTube.... the ad blocker really saves a huge chunk of data

So on average 20 hours YouTube (on data none on wif) + normal usage = 20gb

Whereas from my first hour experience I’m looking at 40gb at least for just YouTube on the iX
