If it ships from HK, then surely it's liable to import VAT and customs duty at 2.5%?
Get the tin hat on pal.

Wait for the following comments:

Scam
Crooks
Warranty issues
Never received it
Had to go through bank to get money back
Buy British

Have I missed any?

I have bought 6 items from this company over the past few years. be prepared for a week to ten day delivery time or more but each and every item i received was new and save me a load of cash over good old British prices.

Heat added but a storm awaits you......

Going from previous comments from people who have used the site, the items are sent from EU distribution centres. No customs tax added on.

Frm what I've read it seems to go either two ways; you get the product and everything is fine, or there's an issue and you're SOL since their support is dreadful. Would you agree?

Also given that these are from HK, would it just come with a UK charger attached to the box?
also save £10 for signing up for there news letter.
cannot see anywhere if it says the customs duty/tax is paid or not.
but have to say all the stuff i get from HK/China i have never had to paid Duty/tax on stuff. but then again the most i have got shipped is £300-400 mark.

Well I am the OP lol. @jimmythehoover seems more well versed than I am, but what I meant was that the devices are from HK originally but are stored in these distribution centres already. Have a look back at previous deals from eGlobal Central and these bits of info are dotted around them

That's because the threshold allowance for customs duty is £390.

Then please correct your description as it's misleading.
SKI will take £12 off.
Im guessing the charger unit will be EU then right ?

The only issues I have experienced are the waiting times but if you are prepared for that then they are fine. The last phone I got had an EU one in it I think, hardly a deal breaker when you are saving so much money?

Courier delivery was made on all of the items I bought, came from within the UK. Maybe they import the stock to their own distribution centres here?

Absolutely not, just curious!
I'm not a flag waver for them and appreciate some people have had issues with them but I get annoyed when people shout scam/rip off etc, these are not fair comments...

Why should be penalised for buying things from another country ?

If you live in the UK and work out in HK , states etc.... your out there for 6 months and your new phone breaks you should be able to take it to any Apple store and have it fixed or replaced.

I didn’t think Apple were up to this type of trickery.
An iPhone X deal on just -127 degrees. Well done op,

I have always known samsung to do this. The warranty only being valid in the country purchased. Apple state the following warranty terms and conditions

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

So personally don't think that risk is worth the saving.
It's not trickery it's in the terms and conditions

To clear up the warranty miscomprehension - Apple like Samsung , LG and all the Global brands offer a global warranty (with some exlusions) - but ONLY if originally bought from an " Authorised Dealer " . If not bought from an authorised dealer there will be no warranty.

Just click on the website of the brand of your choice, then click on authorised dealers to find out if the seller is an Authorised dealer, hence if you will have any warranty .

That seems like something regulations should restrict them from doing. Why should it matter which retailer sold the phone? It still came from Apple.

Sadly not . We all know most phones ,laptops , in fact most electronic stuff is made in China . However if they are not subject to Apples/ Samsungs /LGs etc quality control and batch testing ,then sold by an official authorised distributer there will be no manufacturer warranty . Not just Apple the same goes for all the major brands probably even the Chinese brands that I can neither spell nor pronounce .

There is, as long as you buy in the EU you’re covered anywhere in the EU (for now).

All the large manufacturers have regional companies, hence why there is an Apple U.K. and a Samsung UK which are both subsidiaries of their respective European business.

As it stands,if you want to buy from the HK subsidiary then you must also expect to use the HK subsidiary for warranty purposes.
Has anyone actually ordered this? Seems to good to be true?
I've just ordered one from this site - paid with PayPal for that extra protection. Will see how it goes. Currently at 895 for the 256GB so thought it was worth a try.
