Brilliant. In every way. All-new Liquid Retina display — the most advanced LCD in the industry. Even faster Face ID. The smartest, most powerful chip in a smartphone. And a breakthrough camera system. iPhone XR. It’s beautiful any way you look at it.
hero-devices.jpg
Introducing Liquid Retina.
The new display on iPhone XR is the most advanced LCD in the industry. An innovative backlight design allows the screen to stretch into the corners. So you see true-to-life colour from one beautiful edge to the other.

All-screen makes all the difference.
See how much more room you’ll have for everything you love to do.

Exceptional materials. The most durable front glass ever in a smartphone. Precision-machined, aerospace-grade aluminium bands. Water and dust resistance.2 And six stunning new finishes.

Seven-layer colour process. The beautiful finishes of the back glass are achieved using an advanced process that allows for deep, rich colours.
Aerospace-grade aluminium bands. A special Apple-designed alloy is precision-machined to create structural bands, and anodised to complement the colour of the back glass.
Wireless charging.
The glass back allows iPhone XR to charge easily and wirelessly.3
Advanced Face ID. Security is simple when your face is your password. You can unlock your iPhone, log in to apps and pay for things with a glance. It’s the most secure facial authentication ever in a smartphone. And now it’s even faster.

Intelligent A12 Bionic. This is the smartest, most powerful chip in a smartphone, with Apple’s next-generation Neural Engine. For amazing augmented reality experiences. Incredible portraits with Depth Control. And speed and fluidity in everything you do.
Breakthrough camera system.
The world’s most popular camera is defining a new era of photography. Where an innovative sensor works with the ISP and Neural Engine to help you create photos like never before.

Portrait mode. iPhone XR uses a single-lens camera and machine learning to keep people in the foreground in sharp focus against an artfully blurred background.

Enhanced bokeh effect. Portrait mode photos look even more professional thanks to a sophisticated background blur.

All-new Depth Control. Now you can adjust the depth of field in portraits after you shoot.

Smart HDR. New secondary frames, a faster sensor and the powerful A12 Bionic chip bring more highlight and shadow detail to your photos.

No other phone is like iPhone.
Every decision that goes into iPhone makes it stand apart. From the way it’s made, to the way privacy and security are built in from the start, to the way Apple responsibly recycles it.
'The most advanced LCD in the market', boasting a fantabulous 1,792x828-pixel resolution at 326 ppi (pixels per inch).

My 3 year old Galaxy S7 has a 2560x1440 resolution at 577 ppi. I kept the two side by side in a phone shop and could easily see the difference.

Still, those slogan writers can spin quite the yarn though.

They call it "the most advanced LCD on the market" when it can't even do …They call it "the most advanced LCD on the market" when it can't even do 1080p. That's Apple BS marketing for you.

If you lived by spec's you could easily end up with a crappy Android phone.

That's not me bashing Android phones, plenty of absoultely great Android devices out there, but plenty of people want to tout spec's of cheap crappy Android phones as being better and it's simply not the case.

This is the "most advanced LCD on the market" for reasons other than the resolution, the way they have achieved the edge to edge display, the colour accuracy is industry leading, 120Hz refresh rate on the touchscreen etc having a higher resolution doesn't make something "advanced", using clever new tech to achieve something does. Also in blind tests, people preferred the display in this over a lot of 1080p Android handsets.

Sure 1080p would be better, but it's not everything. This is a phone, I have a Panasonic Plasma TV which is 720p which gives a fantastic picture, why would you need a phone with such a high resolution anyway, your viewing it at far enough away from your eyes to not see the difference. 720p is plenty good enough.

This is also a great deal, voted hot.

What you talking about Bee? Are you trying to say the display on the XR …What you talking about Bee? Are you trying to say the display on the XR isn't a Non-FHD LCD?

Look this phone blows any flagship out of the water.. *ahem.. in 2014..* I did read that a 326ppi in an apple phone is more like 900ppi on a samsung coz apple use the MagiCook Timtronic hyperLiquidrectum Display tech. It means it allows the colours to literally go all the way to the edge of the screen. And that text is literally text all the way across. It also has innovative tech such as 'portrait mode' for the camera. This alone cost multiple billions in R&D.

Like I said available and still available as far as I'm aware for £491 last week. Same process asking chat for a £75 off code then cancel the £29 airtime on delivery of the phone.... This deal would be good if the £491 deal didn't exist....
Link to the cheaperearlier deal looks to have been available last week, you need to go on webchat to get it.

Not doubting you here OP....but far from clear what this deal is...click through there is a £200 off device but I thik that is when toed to an airtime contract.
You also reference £29 to pay - so this isnt Pay as you go....it is taking device and a plan and cancelling the plan?

Or am I missing something.

Scortching at £536 if this is really PAYG....good deal if messing around with contract but been a bit better lately ....add some details to clarrify and you'll have a mega hot eal on your hands

See the thread above your earlier post it has all the details on, it is in effect PAYG as you can pay off the device and then cancel the contract you then get a phone for possibly less than £500 and can go on to any of the cheap sim deals.
**UPDATE** I’ve spoken to live chat again and they where going to cancel my order to give me the £491 deal but the payment has already left and I didn’t feel comfortable having two lots of payments taken so I need to ring tomorrow with the reference number to be refunded the amount.
All thanks to you guys so thank you so much
Great deal, just a bit cautious as not done this before.

Just tried putting in the basket at £749 (PAYG) didn't add a sim. no code applied to bring it down to the figures noted. Do i have to speak to live chat to get them to offer the £200? and then, how do i get the further £75.00 off?

Any help would be much appreciated
That's not a notch .... it's a half pipe
I have just asked live help and didn’t get any code, what did u guys ask for to get the extra £75 off?

They don’t issue the code it’s at checkout however mention that “you friend” got one for £491 and you’d like the same deal
Edited by: "LisaChris1824" 4th Feb
i have been offered for £491

Should i pay the device upront in all?
This is a refresh deal. Follow the link mentioned is a few posts above taking out to the £491 link.

O2 have reduced the phone from £766 to £566 as standard. You go onto live chat as simple tell the rep what you want (iPhone xr in what ever colour with the £29.99 airtime plan). Tell them you want to pay off the device in full now. Ask for a new customer code that gives you £75 off the upfront cost (£566). If you want you can say a friend has just been given a new customer code but when I did it the rep just gave it to me no problem. The rep will send you a link that you follow and everything you want will be in the basket. Just enter the code that you were given and check out.

One thing to note is there seems to be a problem when using Chrome browser as the £75 discount will show in your basket but once you go through the checkout it disappears. Firefox worked for me and end result was a iPhone xr for £491 that arrived next day
great deal I paid $815.47 = £625 in New York. Sounds like cancelling the contract is an absolute nightmare from the experiences in the other thread though. I've read some lucky managed to pay nothing (or think so until maybe next DD period), some paid 1 month, some paid 1st month then a 2nd to get out, and some were told to return the phone!
LisaChris182404/02/2019 22:27

Yes go through the live chat and they’ll send you the link

Hi there, just been in live chat short while ago. Said it had to be contract one not PAYG. Also said the £75 code was not available

I’ve just ordered one with the help of (lengthy) live chat about 45 minutes ago. Gave me a £75 off code and set me up on a rolling contract, and paid for the device in full upfront at £491. Will cancel the rolling contract when the phone arrives tomorrow! Fingers crossed it shouldn’t be all too much hassle.
