Still about £400 more than it should be.
I love Apple, but I feel you are better off paying £729 for the latest iPhone 11.

I have an iPhone X and a Samsung Galaxy from my work. I despise the Samsung. Not because I’m in love with Apple. I just don’t get on with with the Samsung.

Consumer choice I guess..

How’s battery life?

Fine, I replaced it for cheap as apple offered that, it lasts for a long time thanks

I stopped getting iPhones after the 7 and have dabbled in the plethora of available android devices due to value for money but found a slight flaw in most I’ve had so far (Lenovo Z1, Huawei P20 Lite, Nexus 5, OnePlus One). Now little things about iOS grate on me & I’m charging it twice a day so am looking to change once again.

I was disappointed it. The Pixel 3 is great apart from the battery. (The Mi A2 Lite is great apart from the camera) but I sadly have a job where I can't always charge my phone and if I go out, I need my battery to last.
What is it with iOS that you don't like? The iPhone XR does have great battery, My girlfriend swapped her weak-battery'd iPhone 7 for it and has no complaints that I'm aware.

Have you considered Xiaomi?

Why did you go for a P20 lite? That was never going to be a polished experience. Get a P20 Pro or P30 Pro and I think your hunt will be over.

Aaah, okay, it was just that you said you’d had a string of iPhones prior to making the upgrade to Android, and as they are relatively expensive, it only seemed fair to replace with a fairly expensive Android, rather than a budget one, if that makes sense.
Big congrats to the mighty XS, just about scraping into the top 5

Sure you are. Just ignore my comment and the many others that are correctly spelled, instead of providing compelling arguments against what we are saying.

Yeah I see what you mean but it was my way out of spending so much on phones, since android devices started to offer such good value for monies
And to follow up from my screenshot from the Stuff website, for anyone thinking they may be anti-Apple.

(and can I just add that I have the number 1 laptop, the number 1 tablet, and the immediate predecessor to the number 1 phone - could upgrade from the P20 to P30, but sincerely can’t think of a good enough reason to do so).

This guys, is a wrap!

That’s the usual problem, you iPhoners think the only Android phones are Galaxys, and they’re not great either.

Stuff are clearly impartial - there are 3 Apple laptops in the top 5, including 1st place, and 3 Apple tablets in the top 5, including 1st place, yet they clearly show that Huawei phones are better than iPhones - you really can’t argue with that.
I miss the days off one coloured screen Nokias! This stuff is a headache.
Pretty expensive for a fashion accessory...

No humble going on here

I made the point on the first page of this lengthy debate that I bought Apple products, apart from iPhone because I don’t think they are good enough. These screenshots prove that some experts agree with me.
I've got s10 plus and iphone 6, I upgrade my samsung yearly, I use iphone on a £5 a month sim for navigation and that's it.
iPhones are basic with a heavy proce tag and the new iPhone 11 looks absolutely hideous. I phone use to be ahead of the market now they are way behind!

Couldn't really care less what some stranger thinks, personally I prefer iPhone because I prioritise things that no Android phone offers, such as longevity of support, ecosystem integration, privacy and overall ease of use.

However if you prioritise beefy spec sheets, customisation, piracy and a cheaper up front cost then Android is your bag.

People just prefer different things, there is no "better". Just accept that and move on.
Flabbergash12/09/2019 10:41

It’s not 2010 mate, iPhones are hardly a fashion accessory, I see many more people brag about their expensive Chinese phones (see this thread) than about iPhones. For most people, it’s about functionality and reliability and the ecosystem

The majority of the UK’s cellular network transmitters and equipment is manufactured by Huawei - if they really want your info (and they don’t) your 3 year old, flimsy piece of junk isn’t going to save you from them.

I said they weren’t great, not they were terrible, so 2nd place is about right - the best iPhone money can CURRENTLY buy is 5th on the list, end of.

I bought a 4, 5, 6 and 7 outright, and got a 5S and 8 Plus on contract (in their appropriate places in the chronology). I sold my 8 Plus last year, halfway through the contract. If I wanted a better camera on my iphone, it would be the iphone X. £999. I could afford it, but, I'm paying £999 for a phone. (I know it's not just a phone these days, it's my camera, calendar, note-taker too), but then it would be increasing, like the 11 Pro for £1049. And I thought screw it, and I jumped ship to Xiaomi. I sacrificed having a good camera and got the A2 Lite. then I wished I had a better camera, got the Pixel 3, but the appalling battery made me sell it (for profit) and go back to my A2 Lite before switching to the glorious 9T. I love it. Camera is great and battery lasts plenty and it was about £264. I can replace it 3 times over and it'll still be cheaper (3 times because the price has dropped). It was nice to break free from the stream. I still have an ipad and a MacBook Pro, so I'm not missing out on anything.I know, what a boring story. Reading it is optional!

Not boring, but reflective of what many users are now considering bearing in mind the ridiculous prices that we have all become used to for phones.

It is a bit of a cliche, but many of the people I know that have to have the latest phone, are those that can least afford it!

I still have an iPhone 6 and an iPad Pro, but unless I find a good deal I won’t be upgrading the phone any time soon. I have also toyed with the idea of going for some other much cheaper option away from Apple, like you.

Viva La Revolution!

you have no idea about technology do you? My data is safe with an Apple. End of. No crappy tech mag that doesn’t have a clue is going to tell me what to buy, and you obv don’t have a clue either. Is there Apple Music integration with android? Can I link it to all my Apple devices for Apple Pay, find my phone, can I share my pictures with my family without having to log in or send them? Does it have end to end encryption even with texts? Does it have iMessage, FaceTime, is it intuitive? Didn’t think so. Cheers mate, I’ll stick to my safe iPhone that works in all the ways I need it to. I wouldn’t say it’s flimsy either considering it has never broke, I’ve dropped it multiple times and it’s been around the world a lot in 3 years. Actually, it doesn’t even have a scratch on it

Who keeps a phone 6 years, really?

And you talk about ecosystem integration (ecosystem is the standard excuse used in all iPhones are better arguments, anyone noticed?) - I doubt you have as much Apple equipment as me, but I get by no problems at all using it all with my Huawei...

Ease of use, fair enough, but V Tech products are even easier if you struggle with things

A few transistors in a cellular network is a far cry from using a device where the hardware and software has been end to end made by them and Google of all people. In fact it's not even comparable in the slightest.

They have a track record of espionage and have openly admitted to being in the Chinese governments pocket. How anyone can defend that is beyond me.

Gutted man.

3 months to unlock it with EE and can upgrade my actual contract in March... So I can either sell it now for less (locked to EE is the worst for private sales), wait 3 months to unlock then sell it or lastly I can keep it until March get my upgrade and give it to the little one
