iPod nano 8GB Blue 6th Generation (Latest Model) £49.99 instore @ Sainsburys

We all know what an iPod nano is and what it does, so I won't waste time putting all the specs etc here.

Doing a quick shop in Sainsburys in Haywards Heath and came across an iPod nano 8GB in blue sat on the shelf with a label saying £65 off. Bringing it down from £114.99 to £49.99.

Did a quick google and couldn't see it for less than £114.99 anywhere (play.com was cheapest I could see at a quick glance).

Seems that a deal a few weeks ago, I think at Asda, for £75 was voted pretty hot, so if this is an instore national deal then it should be good, I hope!? I have no idea if it is national - but it wasn't a managers special or anything.

Nectar Points too...

All the best...

8GB? Can barely fit a blu ray on there.

Its got a blu ray drive ;o)

(not really anyone who is unsure!!)
I know I will get a kicking here but why would one spend 50 quid for a MP3/video player with 8GB capacity when i can get it as a clone for 10-15 pounds on Ebay? (with the added benefit of not being forced to use the )£")$"*! Itunes!)

Didn't know if it was common practice to show receipt...
Store specific?
great price! Will check my local tomorrow.
let's get some heat in here!
i had the 5th gen, when the 6th came out i thought it was stupid and hated it. Then i bought the 6th in green from the argos deal and love it. Just clip it on to my t-shirt etc and walk around without worry of dropping it. Almost dropped my iphone a few times while listening to music. Anyway this vs ebay knock off. up to 24 hours of playback. Built in radio with pause rewind etc.

£50 is a bargain
not at my local store, checked 20 mins ago

you're as well to produce the receipt before others jump in saying not a deal, no receipt, made up etc

heat added

No, because: A) From experience, I have bought one of those knockoffs and it's sucks, the sound, build and screen quality is S#!T
B) Itunes keeps all your music organised, I'd much prefer it to Windows Explorer even though I hate Apple in every way possible!

P.S. So sorry for the language, Though I must stress: please DO NOT buy a knockoff "clone". Don't make the same mistake that I made!
Bargain!

Personally I find iTunes horrible; loaded up my music library in it a few times and the whole thing slowed to a halt. I'd recommend Foobar. It can be customised like iTunes (or whichever way you want it) and it's compatible with iPods and iPhones with a simple plugin.

Also, rather than go for a cheap knockoff, the Sansa Clip+ is quite good. No it doesn't have a colour touchscreen but it's compact plus the audio chipset is far better than the Wolfson ones Apple put in iPods. It's good enough to drive my high-end Philips.

where which store?
Samsungs one is better by far
Don't bother. Within 6 months the button on the side will fail and Apple will blame it on moisture ingress and refuse to honour the warranty. Don't believe me? Have a little Google of it. The number of complaints on Apples forum alone should be enough to dissuade you.
Had an iPhone 3g and I despise itunes . Often synching meant deleting my data. Update after update each time trashing my iPhone. Then when I connected the piece of junk to my car stereo it often cut out with the stupid message regarding cable isn't made by bloody apple. The sound was terrible and bettered by a £5 deal extreme mp3 player. I now use a sans a which can micro SD cards. Mine is now 40gb. It cost me just over £10 and its sound quality is a billion times better than any iPod or iPhone. It also doesn't bleat or cut out even if I use a standard USB cable or an apple one.
great deal. hot
good deal - will check it out tomorrow

I can vouch for this my power button now does not work and the volume buttons sometimes do not work and there is nothing I can do about it.
1000 bonus points, nice one!
Buy a broken iPod nano 1st gen 2gb silver or black fronted, then send.it to Apple free via their product recall scheme, wait 2 weeks & they'll send you back the latest gen iPod nano 16gb. Now that's what I call a HUKD

'We all know what an iPod nano is and what it does'

Actually, I don't know what it is OR what it does. Nor do I have sufficient interest in Apple products to click and find out.

I'll just assume it's another purposefully restricted piece of hardware that looks shiny and nice but does nothing exceptional.

You obviously haven't opened the door.
£89 (8GB) or £105 (16GB) from apple reconditioned pretty good price.

Thank you to bigsven for posting. cracking price, but has anyone actually managed to find another one for this price?
Will be checking this today, I also hate iTunes. I'd recommend Winamp as they do a plugin for Apple devices and Winamp is awesome IMO.

You seriously don't know what an iPod is or does? Have you been in a coma for 5+ years? Thanks for letting everyone know. Top post. You were so uninterested that you clicked on the deal and then with the same lack of interest you managed to write your own post letting us know that you're personally not interested cos you don't know what it is - but you've somehow heard and retained the fact that Apple products are restricted. Excellent.

Essentially, I've posted a product that millions of people have bought for £114.99 or more, that is for sale at £49.99. I didn't post it for a review of apple versus other mp3 players or apple the brand - I posted a) because I felt I got a good deal and b) in the hope that other Sainsburys have them in stock for others to buy.

That about sums up any apple product as people have pointed out there are far better mp3 players out there for less dosh
I would like to tryout 6th gen as a watch

Argos had a deal a few months back for £49.99 for the green version. I use it in addition to my iPhone so it doesn't cane my battery and it perfect for the gym when partnered with this watch strap case.
