Good find!
My be useful for someone if I clarify that it's a speaker dock that's supplied, rather than just something that charges the ipod.

Excuse my ignorance, but,

Does the 3G mean it's the third generation - or that is comes with 3G internet?

Third Generation

This is a great deal.
I bought my iPT 32GB 3G right after the Keynote (when Apple announced it) for £229 from the Apple store.

Here's a bit of info on the iPod Touch I wrote up for another recent post.
I'll summarise it first though: this is a great deal, but only if you need 32GB of space.
But go with the 8GB and save £100 if you can cope happily with 8GB and don't mind not having voice control or a slightly faster processor.

Ok, teen and nerd here, let me clear a few things up for those … Ok, teen and nerd here, let me clear a few things up for those considering this:There is no 16GB 3rd Gen iPT. They discontinued the 16GB and replaced it with the 64GB.The lineup is:2G — 8/16/32GB3G — 8GB / 32/64GBThe 3G's 32 and 64GB have faster internals, but I would say that it isn't really that noticeable, and advise against buying a 32GB for the speed if you could easily cope with 8GB of space. On a related note, remember that you will receive slightly less free space on your iPod due to the firmware and apps which are installed on your Touch. So if you have 7.9GB of music, and you want ALL of it on your Touch at once, you won't be able to do this with an 8GB device. This will work as a personal organiser, and although it's better if you have a Mac to use with this, it will work with a PC just fine. However, I wouldn't recommend buying one to use as a personal organiser considering there are many other better dedicated devices for such things, like Blackberries or even Palms. There is no camera in ANY version of ANY iPod except the iPod Nano 5th Gen.Neither is there an inbuilt microphone in any iPod.There is no voice control on the 8GB 2/3G, though, unless you're blind, I don't think this is really a very useful feature. I use it sparingly and have to make sure nobody is around so I don't look like a plonker talking to myself. When I do use it, sometimes it gives accurate results, other times... well, you may as well have gone through the menus. There is voice control on the 32/64GB 3G, but as I say, no internal mic. Apple is kind enough to supply you with a pair of headphones which have a mic and three buttons halfway up the cord though. (I do quite like this). The iPod Touch has Wifi and Bluetooth (and a chip which can handle Radio, but Apple haven't activated this chip yet (i.e. you can't listen to radio on the Touch — yet)), but no EDGE or 3G obviously. This means you need to be connected to a Wifi network in order to access the internet on a Touch.

Woudl some one pleae tell me what so good about ipod touches. I have seemed to have missed the point in them. No phone call, No web (unless you are in a (safe) wifi area which normally means home or work where there are real computers. Lacks a decent organiser. Relatively next to no storage space. Please someone enlighten me. At the moment, I use a samsung Lucido mobile, an ipod classic 80GB and have a nice NC10 netbook for when I am on the move and need webbynessability.

Way over the top on the rrp of the speakers, they are £14.99 at Laskys. Not that much of a hot deal. Warm from me.

iphone 3gs all the way for me... sat nav/organiser/web/games/music player/video player/video recorder/camera/alarm clock.... oh, and a phone!

Don't you understand? It has the letters IPOD in it's name so it MUST be brilliant!!!!!!

Urgh. Sorry for the sycophantic outburst but I have to agree with you as I don't get them either. What really annoys me about Ipods in general is that you have to use ITunes and not be able to drag-and-drop files as you want. I know it's slick and anyone can use it but guess what, so is an Explorer window and at least Windows isn't expecting me to buy things every 10 seconds or stopping me from putting my music files where I want on whatever device I want.

I love my iPod touch. I use it all the time at home - it allows me to grab a few secs on the Internet to check emails etc whilst still looking after my little boy. I can even watch live TV whilst my little boy watches cbeebies :-) for me it has all the benefits of the iPhone without the £35 cost

Why not just wait for archos's 500gb android internet tablet 5 thing, that is going to make the touch look like a calculator I think.

I have got a Ipod Touch with the speaker dock advertised. The Touch is great for checking something quickly on the net when at home and is well worth the extra you pay compared to a Nano in my opinion. The speaker dock although small packs quite a punch but the retail price of this seems highly inflated as I have seen them in Tkmaxx for £9.99 (same product with different branding).

Because I own an Archos 5 IMT and I wouldn't recommend Archos ever again. Their ideas are great, but the build quality, reliability and customer service is truly awful.

I would recommend that anyone who wants to buy an Archos product find someone stupid enough to have bought one (like me) to get an honest opinion before spending their money.

This docking station is very poor quality and sound.

I paid £15 for the identical speaker dock from Comet 4 weeks ago. It is very good but not worth £50.
