yeah, i don't feel much difference.....especially when you have one glasses or two...... :P (or thin wallet)

Can't beat the poor mans Baileys. Tesco's Irish Meadow and ASDA's equivalent are also very decent.

nice one - my misses goes through baileys like water over xmas - cost me a fortune - gonna fill some baileys bottles up with the asda one and see if she notices - then gonna spend the money i save on a N - Wii........:giggle:

check the label - I haven't had any recently, but Irish Knights always used to taste a lot more bitter that Baileys for the good reason that it was cream mixed with cheap wine (instead of cheap whiskey)... so, it isn't the same type of thing

I'll vouch for Irish Knights, we get it at Xmas cos it mixes well with hot chocolate! and it's cheep cheep cheep!!!!

It's 14.5% ABV! That must be some VERY strong wine they are mixing it with  Surely this is mixed with whisky (albeit cheap whisky) to get to that ABV figure?

We always get Irish Knights when it's in stock at Asda, massive favourite over christmas and it seems that most of the family prefer it to Baileys and some just can't tell the difference.

Nah it'll be sherry or something similar (antifreeze?) as that has a high ABV.

This is Baileys for council trash...I get the real mccoy or Taste the Difference from Sainsburys as I is sophisticated like!

lol, I'll be more sophisticated when I graduate and have income for that. Now I'm glad I can sip this decent drink with my friends in front of the fire (at home, not outside lol) and not to worry you're gonna get short of drinks.
:whistling:

looks like i will have to check that out before do the switch with my misses. if she finds out, she'll kill me. ta for the heads up Simona

In most cases if its 14.5% its made with wine and if its 17% it is made with whiskey

How much is this usually?

£3.01. j/k

isnt £3 the normal price or was it £2.99 last year

yeah picked 1 up anyway as seems good value. Seems it is normal price looking at the display.

Hoping it tastes like Baileys!

yeah it tastes pretty good

i normally have a large glass 3/4 irish cream,1/4 milk top off with some ice
then carry on untill the bottles gone:thumbsup:

marks and spencers do a decent irish cream 7.99 i think
very nice some of my fiends prefer it to baileys

The 'Taste the Difference' stuff from Sainsburys was half price last year...I think it was around £8 and was very tasty indeed. You don't tend to get really great deals on Baileys anymore, s'pose it's because it's the brand leader!!

...if neither of the above hit the £8 mark I may have to mingle with the pikeys and go for a cheapie! :santa:

...out of interest, how long do these last for unopened? I've still got a TTD from last Christmas...it don't go orff does it???

WOW @ council trash..... Im shocked. I live in a council flat and I am most definitely not trash. As a new user on this site, I'm REALLY hoping this is not the prevailing attitude.

I have tried Irish Knights. I did a taste test with it and Baileys. The Irish Knights is thinner in consistency and has a slighty harsher edge to it, but it really isn't too bad. Certainly its good for putting in coffee, over ice cream, etc. But real Bailey's is nicer for drinking. I've tried Lidl's own Irish cream too, which is similar to Irish Knights, it's acceptable but not as rich as Bailey's again.

I'll have you know we never touch the stuff and even if we did you're not invited:giggle:

Nothing comes close to the real thing but this is great to give to friends/family if they are visiting. Keep the Baileys out of site.

It's not Baileys, but it's Baileys-esque.

Should satisfy your already squiffy gran after she's been at the sherry and definitely good enough to cook with.

sort of

for the few months i have been on here it seems that most members on here eat nothing but organic, free range food, wouldnt look at any procceseed food(turkey ham;-) )look down on you if you feed your children any of it.
buy pre made solid wood furniture (dont mention flat pack)
and mostly only buy branded named foods/products(bah supermarket ownbrands)

i am sure theres more thats slipped my mind

the funny thing is this site is a moneysaving site but it seems that it full of money folk(people with plenty of money)trying to save £3 on an external hd:giggle: (which i dont buy for a second)

It's been this price for god knows how long [a few years] voting hot because its really nice! (Not like i've ever tried it seeing as i'm only 16? :whistling:) haha

PMSL! Was at Asda earlier and had to go have a look. The shelf was BARE!!!!
