Hmmm i doubt it. I'm so tempted to get one but don't know how the couch monster will take it. It could go either way oO

No but a dishwasher does.

This + A dishwasher and a maid can replace the wife

A very hot maid

So this deal should be maid hot?

This one seems to have more reviews and is a bit cheaper too

Better reviews than the "iRobot Roomba" or better reviews than "collectorcol's wife"?

It maybe cheaper but the replacement parts available for the iRobot are much more comprehensive and more established. The only downside of this 521 model is you can't set a timer programme for it to clean at say '11am', you have to press the 'clean' button, not sure if this is too much of a disadvantage, i guess you just press the clean button before you step out the door for work. The more expensive 555 is £250+, comes with timer programming and a 'virtual wall'(can be bought for £20-30 separately).

You can easily program this model, and most other roombas to schedule cleaning using an arduino board (where my handle comes from), a wilreless shield (wireless networking for the arduino). I got a 520 from ebay for ~£50, it now has all of these features. You can also build your own "virtual wall" for a few quid.

Price has just gone upto £200....

I'm not sure if i feel impressed or bemused by the time and effort spent with the 'arduino' board...
