I have yet to see a positive review of these automated vacuums. I think I will hold off until more proven technology develops.

Loads of positive reviews. The technology has been around for over a decade.

We've a Neato. Great unit.
I have had this model since July. Absolutely fantastic. Just remember to empty the bin each day and clean the filters once per week. Depending on how often you schedule it. Honestly will never not have one now. I paid 610. So this is a steal hot from me. The real winner is if you have hardwood floors you can probably do away with your regular one. Also now works with Alexa in the UK. Which is handy if a mishap occurs and you ain't sure where he is, or just want to Tell him to 'Engage' haha.
We have a Roomba 650.

It has given faultless service over the past 2.5 years.

I don't have experience of using one on long pile carpets, but on short /medium pile it is very good, and on wooden floors it is brilliant.

It lives in the kitchen cupboard and come out and cleans downstairs every night at 3am.

For upstairs I just move it upstairs and press clean as and when required.

What can I say other than I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one or recommend them.

You do get what you pay for. We also tried a cheap Vileda model but returned it as it did not do the edges.

The iRobot Roomba brand is excellent.

There are loads of positive reviews. The cheap ones get slated because they are pathetic novelty types.
We bought a Eufy on offer for 169 and it's fantastic. Very quiet yet amazing the amount of crap it picks up even after a big Hoover session with Henry.
It also collects a lot of dust. I wouldn't say it replaces the need to Hoover but certainly reduces how often you need to and for us the reduction in dust is great.
We have 2 kids and 2 dogs and the Eufy makes life easier.
Our house is tiled and wooden floor downstairs and it never been so clean.
I agree some are better than others and I wouldn't buy this roomba personally as I think the Eufy is cheaper and does everything u need. App type Hoover's just seem like a fad.

The only downside is having to empty it more often than a normal Hoover but honestly I can recommend one enough.

You aren’t looking very hard then I bought this model below for less than 200 quid and it is quite fantastic.

Have heat, I’ve been waiting for this day, The 960 is pretty much top spec and this is almost £300 off RRP!

Not sure why all the downvotes, but you’ve made me and my family very happy OP!
Good discount. I think I paid almost this price 5 years ago for our 770. It's been faultless over that time.
But, tech has improved and prices have fallen- I think I'd now rather get an Xiaomi when it comes to replacing our vac, given their competitive pricing.
Would have bought this of I hadn't heard of Xiaomi! Bought at the end of last month from gearbest and arrived today. No vat as came from Italy. Need to buy adapter as has China plug. Reviews are brilliant. Spec probably better than Roomba 980! or atleast on par and 1/4 the price. Probably buying two more, one for each floor of the house. You can get 2 XIAOMIVAC for this price and with more specs.

Voted hot as price good for Roomba. But personally I would recommend Xiaomi instead as cheaper for better specs. See comparisons on YouTube against Roomba 980 and Dyson

Had a series 7 for quite a few years and it is great. Had to get a part from US though as UK does not stock all parts. That was due to me dropping it down the stairs - a piece snapped off but it still worked!

Which version?

Which version?

Judging by the '2 Xiaomi for 1 Roomba at this price', I'd think Xiaomi version 1, without the mopping function.

Which version?

Original version as £200 cheaper and not worth it for mop. Instead buy dedicated irobot braava mops. Have both the mop versions from irobot braava. My brother has had the irobot 650 for more than 3y and wouldn't be without a robot vacuum now. Was considering irobot but after watching gazillion YouTube videos and comparisons went for the Xiaomi robot vacuum instead and will buy one for every floor. See satisfied customers on Xiaomi vacuum threads on hukd itself.

Choose the free delivery without paid tracking option which is what I chose and didn't have to pay any vat cuisines etc. People who choose courier and tracking etc end up paying customs vat etc. No brainer.

Yes the Xiaomi mopping function is basic and just dragging a wet mop along. With irobot braava mops (both versions) you can just do quick mop like XIAOMIVAC and also scrubbing action where it scrubs each area thrice. Much better. My wife cleaned our decent sized dining kitchen and strained her back and said it's my turn next. Bought the robot mop and wife want pleased initially that I want doing my share, but now likes the robot mop as it's very quiet and does a good job. Bought both versions for different floors. The were good deals on both mops on Amazon as per camel price checker and bought both at lowest ever prices.

Would recommend the original version unless you want the features of the second generation which costs £200 more.

Where did you buy it? GearBest? There was an option to buy from EU warehouse but it’s not in stock now. Would you buy from CN / HK?

Buy from which ever warehouse is cheaper and select cheapest free delivery option. DON'T PAY EXTRA FOR COURIER OR TRACKING! Cheapest option apparently usually comes without customs! Courier or tracking always comes with customs charges which includes for additional courier charges and service charge and customs. Mine took about 35 days but others have said it took 2m. But I think anyday worth it instead of paying through your nose for a Roomba 980 or older version of Roomba. But each one has different preferences just like cars. Xiaomi you have to reset it to English watching YouTube tutorials and guess worthless warranty as no one will send it back to China.
Yes from gearbest. Don't remember if China or Hong Kong warehouse. But mailing label shows mailed from Italy. Guess they bring stock in bulk to EU and redistribute it from EU as I wasn't billed customs etc
