Got an Aukey one. Started my 1.8 Tdci Mondeo no problem.

I've used the Aukey ones as well, works a treat. My daughter has an older car (1.4l Corsa) that doesn't get driven often, so regularly needs a jump start - we've found we can do about 10 starts from a fully charged unit

I was looking for something of this current delivery for my 3.2l diesel which isn't driven much.

Will it realistically do this?.. always been sceptical these things can handle larger engines.

Anyone tried these type of product with a large diesel engine.

Would appreciate your feedback.

Cheers.
Had to use this when the snow came

I had to use the boost function for a little more oomph

This was on a neighbour's Skoda Fabian, petrol, hadn't been driven for about 10weeks. Don't know the engine size.
But, it started immediately, and there was no messing about with having a second car, slinging them up and all the other stuff

Well worth having in everyone's car, means you don't need to rely on anyone to jump start you.

Oh, and mine was sitting in the car for about eight months without being used or charged, and it had kept its 100% charge all that time.

I've tried this on my dad's 2.7 Mercedes jeep started straight away not ran for months seem to work fine
perfect timing, just started looking for one of these things yesterday for 3.5litre petrol. this hopefully does the trick. thanks OP.
I've got a similar model, and it's started my 3.5 V6 with ease, worth every penny.

I have the AA branded one (8000mAh) and after starting my 1.6 zafira 2 times now, it still shows 4/4bars of power. MUCH handier than getting jump leads out etc.
Thanks OP, ordered! Definitely something I could've used recently, and sure I will again. The fact that it can be used as a decent capacity and not too big USB powerbank for camping and whatnot will make it so much more handy than the old "suitcase" style portable jumpstarters. The wonders of modern technpology!
Do these not need regular recharging if not used for a while like most rechargeable batteries? Or does that not apply to lithium type batteries?
Cancelled my RAVPower 400a order and gone for this, thanks OP
Only 30 time it charges or have I misunderstood

Good question. I'd worry about them being left alone until needed and then they don't work.

Does it benefit from regular "topping up"?

Regular power bank holds its charge for months, would imagine these to be the same

Believe you get 30 jump starts out of a full charge
Argh, just checked the price history on this, it was on a lightning deal yesterday for just £29.59, it's normally £36.99 so this price now is the highest it's been.

Really, good thing not bought yet
Actually cancelled my order. The numbers advertised are all over the shop. The headline on amazon states it jump starts upto 6L engines, one of the pictures shows it jump starts upto 3L engines, the description further down states it jumps 4L engines and the reviews are for a different higher powered model (Size Name: IN088-10800mAh for this one compared to Size: IN093-13600mAh reviewed).

None of the reviews are for this particular model, they're different ones - look closer "Size: IN093-13600mAh"

Model being advertise is "IN088-10800mAh"
I only do 3000 miles a year and so in winter I am always a bit anxious about whether there will be enough charge in the batteryI will definitely buy one of these, but will wait for the price to come down to £30. Thanks for the time being OP, heat added.

Unfortunately many sellers of this kind of thing publish blatant bull plop figures so I'm just highly skeptical about all of them unless proven otherwise (Youtube reviews are often an insight)

I have a similar one to this and its amazing for such a small item, starts cars, vans etc with ease. cant recommend these highly enough.

have some heat!
I have a Ravpower 10000mah , very similar , will not start diesel, I doubt this will.

If you drive that rarely, why not just take off the positive (+ve) terminal, and it'll stop the battery going flat. Almost equal to having to jump start it every time. Unless, your battery is hidden away and has a jump access point.
This or an Aukey/Ravpower? Not a brand snob, but those are better known brands, thinking about warranty/longevity (if it'll ever come to that). Looks a solid bit of kit and the fact it does up to 3.5L diesel engines is great. Will probably wait for it to come down, as it's currently at its highest price point and I'm in no rush.

Doubt it very much , I had a similar one did not do diesel, you should get an 18000mah 600 amp for diesel.

Simply because I don’t want to have to reconnect the battery for every journey, although I understand your point. It has never been an issue to date, but having the back up at one of these units will just cover me for the time when the battery gives up the ghost.

Yep. Definitely.
It came today , instructions say 2.5l diesel , think it’s going back

Just to put anyone's mind at rest, I used my emergency jump starter (different brand, same specs) for the first time in 13 months or so this morning, having forgotten about it until now. It was showing 1 bar out of 4 on the level indicator but still started a neighbour's car without any issue at all despite being neglected int the boot for over a year. I think as long as you remember to give it a charge at least once a year you'll be fine.
Won’t start 2.8l diesel
