Dell Alienware AW2518H 25" 240Hz G-Sync Gaming Monitor £334 maybe open box but new @ itcsales
Found 6th JunFound 6th Jun
Dell Alienware AW2518H 25" 240Hz G-Sync Gaming Monitor 1st post. Really good monitor, cheap compared to other 240hz Gsyncs.

Mine has also arrived. Surprised at how beautiful TN panels are nowadays. Thanks for the spot OP. Never had G-sync before, it is game changing.

My Screen arrived - absolutely perfect and brand new.... so glad I purchased

Even if you can't hit 240hz it doesn't matter, G-Sync solves screen tearing. You can set it at 144hz if you want but there's no real benefit.

Good luck finding 144+ hz, gsync monitor then for 2 bills... these people..

Wouldnt pay over 2 bills for a 1080p monitor

Technically NRGit products are not new. Albeit they come with a 3 year exchange warranty backed by NRGit. They usually come from products returned by customer but having been checked by Dell tech staff are deemed not to be faulty. Note ITC only offer a 1 year return to base warranty here. Yes looks like this is a duplicate post so should be expired. Only posted recently.

This deal should be expired. They thought they were posting a deal £20 cheaper than last time, but infact its the exact same price including vat.

it's only 140 new And how is it £20 cheaper than last time?

Is that without the vat?

The HDR claim is complete hogwash, it's a 6bit+FRC panel with HDMI 1.4 and doesn't support any known standards.

No VESA mount in case anyone else was wondering

Anybody know what response times it has and it's contract ratio

Refurbished Dell Monitor S2417DG 24" 1440p 144hz G-SYNC Widescreen LED - £358.80 incl. VAT @ ICT Sales
Found 20th Sep 2017Found 20th Sep 2017
As of writing there are 45 in stock. I've never shopped with itcsales so can't vouch for them.

Still its not a bad price and ICT also do the same monitor with a 3 year warranty refurb. Just do some research to see if the companies offering refurbished monitors with 3 year warranty have good reviews on trust pilot etc, personally I am waiting to see what deals are being done later this month around "black friday" thanks for the posts though - this could be an option if there are no new deals as they are expensive if you pay the full price.

Right at the very bottom at the end of another paragraph. Search for "refurb" and you'll find it. Naughty of them to hide that quite important detail.

Where does it say they are refurbished?

Hadn't spotted the small print it was refurbished but I've updated the deal title anyway to make this clear. Now I understand this isn't new this perhaps isn't the great deal I thought it was.

They're not new either, they are also refurbished. The 3 year warranty is direct with them and not Dell. Amazon have this monitor new for £399 with the Dell 3 year warranty.

I don't have much to compare it to but I agree , 144hz & Gsync are game changing Happy chappies (y)

Got it all setup and I am blown away, the panel is the best TN I have ever seen and g sync and 144hz are a dream together. Thanks for the heads up for the price at NRG IT, think I have bagged myself a bargain!

Can imagine you'll hit over 60fps with a 970 in a couple of games but a 10 series would go down a treat for the both of us I usually hate change but when it's a change as good as this I don't mind :D Sadly I don't have room for ultrawide , I hope you're happy with , don't forget to calibrate it once it's arrived (y)

Funnily enough I'm actually going from a 3440x1440 ultra wide so not too much of a change price wise. I've just had enough of only playing at 60hz and g-sync looks SO good! Will be interesting to see how it suits me, think I'll miss the ultra wide a bit but the rest should make up for it! Yeah I'm running a 970 so interested on the frames I will be getting. May look to get a 1070/1080 in the future anyway =D

No worries (y) That's exactly what I thought, compared to the Acer and Asus offerings especially, personally not a fan of the Acer styling and the Asus was overpriced . What are you upgrading from ? At the moment I have a gtx 780 so I won't be pushing that many frames but waiting for the 1080ti to drop below £650 before I upgrade my GPU (embarrassed)

Mine turned up yesterday. Not opened it yet but hope to have a look at it today or tomorrow. I'm by no means a monitor expert, but happy to post up impressions vs the Philips 1080p monitor I'm currently using (which must be at least 5 years old) if anyone is interested.

I've owned the U2414H (1920x1080) for a long time and cant fault it, the factory calibration on sRGB was pretty accurate on mine.

You can adjust quiet a bit on these and with the right hardware you can create a new ICC profile to correct any faults. Have a look at the review on the tft central site and it covers this aspect well

I use one of these at work as well, and am happy with it

I use this at work everyday. Very well made in terms of build quality but image / panel even when driven digitally display a narrow range of washed out colour. I put up with it at work as you use what you are given to use with no choice, but for home I have an ASUS that is LED backlit Amorphous Si panel and its tremendous.

Im guessing because it looks he joined just to posr this and therefore probably works for the company. Though that does look like a good price, for this exact PC. Though same specs can probably be had for less.

Good price for a well-specced SFF - heated! This will do nicely as a Plex server and HTTP in-one... assuming there's room for a 3.5" HDD in there.

why cold?

Why would you call them when you work there? ;)

this looks very good value for a fairly powerful pre assembled workstation

Good price (This was £510 on Amazon a few weeks ago, and higher now), but I strongly recommend checking the return policies for this item, as the UP2716D I received last month (from another vendor) was poor in terms of uniformity and backlight bleed, and had to be returned. This seems to be a common issue unfortunately.

In windows the text will get smaller and smaller, as the resolution increases, unless you use scaling, so my 11.8" tablet on full HD is a little difficult to use, whereas the same resolution on my 15" is fine, so this 4K monitor would fall halfway between and I'd get to have more toolbars, wider windows and be able to see more in SQL, Visual Studio, Excel, but perhaps not Word, but it might need a small level of scaling. I would love to have the money to buy one of these, but my wife would notice. mike

If bigger is always better. Why do so many people wet themselves when a 5" phone has a 1080p screen? Also if your average DSLR is now 16MP plus, would people be happy seeing 1/8 or 1/2 of there image without resorting to zooming out and losing pixel detail?

This monitor is ahead of your usual 24" monitors if you want to do anything that involves image creation. The colour depth is far better than most, albeit not a professional grade that would cost at least double this. If you take photography seriously, you could do worse buying this.

Want my iPhone 3GS then?

My 23 inch HD screen is 2 MPix. That resolution is as good as I need. If I want (which I do) a 4K screen (i.e. 8MPix) I would want it to be 4 times the area - twice the height and width. I can't see the point in having a 8MPix screen that's only 24 inches across the diagonal. All you get is the same sized text, taking up more pixels and images that are a quarter the size.

What an intelligent individual, or so he thinks. 1) That Summer was incredibly hot, so much so, that opening a window made little difference. If anything, if its hotter outside, then opening a window makes things worse because the hot air will tend to travel indoors if the room is cooler. 2) No, there was no proper functioning air con.

Updated to 10.1. Remember to update bios, drivers, and fingerprint software from the Dell site

very welcome! Glad to be of help

You're the best kind of forum user <3 Good info, thank you.

There is a Windows 8.1 licence key stored on the BIOS. You can view the key by using software called Nirsoft ProduKey. I couldn't get Windows 8.1 to activate at first, I discovered there are multiple versions of Windows 8.1, I got it to work by downloading and installing the Core Single Language ISO - I had first used the regular Core ISO. I downloaded it here: Its currently installed, activated and downloading updates and should be able to update to Windows 10 soon. Great deal, really slim and looks brand new. Thanks OP!

So cheap it should be illegal :)

Chill out man, it was just a joke.

Ok I take on your comments and thanks for that. This laptop if you spec up a new one on dells website is almost double the price. It's for business not for games so portability is high on the list. It also has the docking station option which works well I feel on dell laptops. Ok it's not a fantastic deal but I think it deserved a bit more certainly not worthy of the first comment on this post.

Fanimal, check your home insurance it may be covered on that, I got mine replaced after they found a power surge f,,,,d it up!

If it came with a 1 ( one ) year warranty ? It is now up to you to prove there was a hardware fault when it was delivered ! unlikely after nearly 2 years useage. Only thing to check is like new cars check some forums out or search for your model and see if you can find information on loads of people having the same fault or issue then you may have a case but still have to prove the fault. IE Toyota throttle peddle fault then recall, Porsche 5 years of charging people for rear oil seal repairs when infact they knew they had a problem from manufacture. Beko washing machines setting on fire after 18 months etc. Hope that helps you.

So help me out laptop has just packed up after 22 month's of only weekend use and i contacted the company and all i get is only 1 year warranty....should i get 2 years on this and if so where can i send them to understand this as very confusing.
