I know it a bit pricey but well worth it if you are on T-mobile unlimited data plan as they still let you browse when you reach your limit so you can use this app to surf the web on your Mac or Pc.

Tether is an application that allows your Mac and PC to take advantage of your smartphone's data plan, providing you access to the Internet on your laptop anywhere there is cellular coverage from your smartphone.

Tether is easy to install, easy to use, works practically anywhere, and is very cost-effective.

To download the PC software visit:
tether.com/i/T…exe

To download the Mac software visit:
tether.com/i/T…dmg

It won't get pulled, I read the q&a with the developers, says apple asked loads of questions about the app, happy with the responses and authorised it to go live

way too expensive. If it been a bit more reasonably priced, they would probably sell more. laughable at 10.49.

Gotta love the limited unlimited plans.

Am I missing the point? Can you not do this anyway without an app?

Only if your network let's you use it without paying for it.

I use the personal hotspot option on the iphone to tether, i am on t-mobile and never been charged for tethering. What does this app do that personal hotspot doesn't?

"Cinderella shall go to the ball"

There are no doubt many more APPS in the waiting in the wings to give Android like experience.
At least competition means permission to sell is easier,

I have this option by default on both my iphone and ipad, so this is cold..

Ok the hotspot is the feature I was thinking of. Was pretty sure it had a built in feature.

Personal Hotspot is a built in feature in the iPhone that allows you to tether using usb or bluetooth. Most mobile networks will charge you a daily fee of between £1 - £2 to tether though.

The server died again when they announced it.

How much does an app that allows you to make phone calls cost? Seriously people, you pay £500 for a phone that needs a 10 pound app to theter? Are you brainwashed by Apple or something?

Can someone clarrify for me.....I have an Orange contract ina San Fran...sometimes I set up "Portable wi-fi hotspot" and then connect my laptop to the wifi from the phone.

I have never been charged for this - I assumed as I have never exceeded my data allownace ....do some networks charge for this?.....I had always assumed yet....but from what I am seeing on this thread I am thinking no -- they only charge for using iPhone hotspot?
