I too would like to know your theory behind this. I've had some prosecco that's tastes better than some champagnes.

I would assume that it has suddenly become so popular (like pulled pork etc) that everyone has started drinking it. Just very easy to drink (slightly sweetish) no edge. This stuff has been around for yonks but has taken off big time. My opinion, not that anyone will want it, is it lacks character. It tastes like what it is, a tank produced wine.
At least cava is bottle fermented which tends to give it individual flavours, of course many will prefer the blandness of prosecco. As I say my opinion. Btw cracking deal at this time of year.

Going to Asda this morning thanks

Some good ones there! Feel another order coming on!

YellowTail Shiraz and Merlot are decent enough reds, as are the Hardys Nottage Hill Chardonnay & Cab Shiraz. I have also tried the Aupouri Sav Blanc (Marlbrough) and thats well worth £4 a bottle, not quite as good as Wairau Cove or Villa Maria, but they cost double this. I didn't expect Asda to put on the 6 for £24 just before the festive period, and I noticed Morrisons had put an extra 50p and above on their usual £5 to £7 bottles of McGuigan or acobs Creek wines. SO - heat from me !!!.

Totally agree that Cava is superior to Prosecco.

This is still more expensive than the clearance wines from M&S posted the other day & still available.

If you buy in store then 6 bottles gives an extra 25% off making it £3.75 per bottle. There was a special offer / clearance tab but it seems to have gone you can still find the reductions, but you have to trawl through.
I suggest ringing your local store to check what stock they have and then asking them to put it to one side for you.

Ok thanks I knew of them. As you say the online discount has gone.

Precisley, I also prefer bottle fermented, good explanation.

EXCLUDING SCOTLAND so not a hotUK deal.

Cava is made with the same method as champagne....( method traditional) that is why a very good Cava can be similar.

Prosecco is a completely different method.

Ignorant and rude. Try being nice, you might make some friends.

Unified in hatred we are.

The bottles are just £4 each in Scotland instead.

Oops, no it doesn't work when I try and check out.

They weren't in my local ASDA tonight. It would not make sense for ASDA to do that as that would be a different and superior offer as you would not be tied to buying in groups of 6 and could even just buy a single bottle.

EDIT: For a while Tesco were including the South of Scotland postcodes in the alcoho offers for online grocery shopping. They were getting around it via a loophole of sending the grocery shop from the North of England. I believe they stopped that though? Probably got a lot of moral pressure and grief from the politicians?

I wouldn't say chav drink , however , it's not my kind of thing . Still wine certainly is though. Many thanks for this OP as Tesco's 25% deal has finished this is perfect timing. Heat added.

good finds. thank you.

Killingbeck had none of the Gallo white zonfandel in tonight either.

teetotal or just plain stupid?

Excellent find, thanks. Ordered 6 bottles and a couple of bottles of beer to collect Sunday. Ordered via Quidco and if you're a new online customer (like me) possible £7.50 cashback for orders over £25 happy days

I'm teetotal, but I'm calling bull **** on that. Overpriced champagne is for chavs.
Veneto is about cruising around the bars eating finger food and drinking good prosecco for breakfast.

Great Deal OP. Merry Xmas to you and a VERY merry Xmas to me!

Prosecco is now very common and so are chavs so he was right

if I have to explain why it's a common chav lady drink then I think you might be missing the point, just saying people that drink this normally have eyelashes on their cars and England stickers on the rear windows

Be careful and don't count on this specific cashbach, last time I used this offer, it tracked then before it was supposed to pay it went to 0. I made a claim but still no news.
