It's back! NUS Extra card for £16 (+ £1.50 postage) via online course at e-careers Go grooupie (1 year card)

Haven't seen this deal so cheap for a little while and can't see it being posted already.

Basically this is the usual deal for non-students to get hold of an NUS extra card.
So essentially you buy a £4 (e-careers) course from GoGroupie:-
gogroopie.com/dea…vj/

Then once your order is processed, register your voucher with e-careers here:-
e-careers.com/red…her
E-Careers will then 'assign' the course to you (within 3 days), then you can enroll on the course.

Then head over to the NUS Extra site where you can purchase your NUS Extra card:-
cards.nusextra.co.uk/

The actual card costs....
£12 for 1 year
£22 for 2 years
£32 for 3 years

So it's the usual drill, you don't need to actually study the online course, unless you really do want to learn about the new features of Microsoft software.

The benefits of NUS extra cards are well documented on various HUKD threads over the years. Head over to this link for full details of the discounts available:- nus.org.uk/en/…ra/

Not listed above is that this can qualify you for Amazon Prime Student.

I'm really disappointed with the NUS card at the moment. A lot of places are now using UniDays which isn't as open. Spotify don't discount for NUS any more which is a real kick in the teeth

Are you a student RobP?

Shout out to all my fellow Shaw academy pupils

My card has paid for itself many times over. Heat added.

This card has been great for me. 6 months free amazon and 40 pound there after. Also 10% coop.

No, but I have a .ac.uk email address and was given an NUS card through work. It was great a few years ago, but the range of discounts you get from NUS aren't as good now

Have you done the bit where you enter the GoGroupie voucher code on the e-careers site yet? I can't remember the exact wording on the site as it's a little while since I did mine, but once you 'enroll' on the online course I believe this gives you a student ID with e-Careers.

EDIT: I've just double checked and it doesn't look like NUS extra ask for your student number as part of the card order process. You just select 'ECareers' as the place of study... then the dates of study (make them up - e.g. 09/11/17 to 09/11/18). Then it asks the type of course - I went for 'Professional / Vocational' then 'Computer Sciences & Engineering'.

Some people have previously reported that NUS don't even check if you are studying where you say.... but as long as you have registered your voucher and enrolled on the online course with e-careers you're definately covered.

I got a number but says it's not valid on the e-careers account

Ah yes I think you have to wait till they have 'assigned' the course to you. I'll update the OP to that effect, I seem to remember it didn't take too long when I went through this a few months back.

Can you get a refund from go groopie?

Where are you getting the message that your voucher is not valid? It looks like 'thesinstar' has managed to redeem their voucher.

Mine is saying only valid at e-careers.com
Will that still be ok?

Any ideas?

I'd like to know more also

Ah yes that will be fine.... my fault I put the .co.uk address in the OP, editing that now.

I registered the voucher and received email that had to wait 3 days for course setup then I completed application for nus card all went through and card posted to my address in 7 days . I download the nus app and logged in and all my details are there to use .

Yes that's right. In theory you could try the NUS card application now, but probably be best to play it safe until you're officially a student at e-careers.

No need for a course anyway and its been said 100s of times!!

Enter your local education centre or college from the selection, enter a course, i entered maths level 2, chose your address and pay £12

Yeah, but there's nothing to stop you applying for a 3 year NUS card.

Heat as always

If you have an ac.uk email address you can sign up for student beans, Unidays... etc...

Ive been planning to do this for a while so thanks op for your coaching on this.

What's the trick to avoid the £1.50 delivery charge for the card? Thanks.

Strange, it works for me and I only work at one.

Apologies. I am staff and worked for me.

You can save a fiver with Amazon music instead. 3.99 a month for students.

It might be that different Universities deal with authentication differently. Mine obviously groups staff and students together.

Or...

more likely... have you actually registered for your library account? if you are staff you need to activate your library account - if you do that - not only can you borrow books if you need - but it should then not kick back with a no maybe??

I am just guessing mind you.

Can I use my Amazon prime or do I need student Amazon prime to use codes

Less and less offers available. Not worth it now

Is this only for new accounts? I'm sure mine is still only £4.99.
