It's back. The free 5 Year Warranty promotion on selected LG Washing Machines!

107
Found 8th Apr
If you have purchased an LG washing machine on or after 28th March 2018, check the model number and the participating dealer on this link, as the current promotion hasn't been widely publicised. You may be pleasantly surprised, as most of the current product range with drum capacities of 8KG+ qualify for this promotion.

The current promotion is on until 30th June 2018, so if you were swaying towards a another brand because they were offering a 5 Year Warranty and LG weren't, there's now no need to compromise.

And remember, factor in the £100 or so of what you would normally pay for a 5 Year extended warranty and with prices starting at £369, there's no need to settle for a poor quality, unreliable washing machine.

Oh, and for a heads up the current best buys can be found at Currys, John Lewis and AO. Check out all the participating dealers and remember, many will have price match policies and possible discount codes too. Happy hunting!

really a typo is all you have to add to this? the internet is full of them you must be so busy.
thomasleep14 m ago

this is not a freebie as you have to by a washing machine!!!!!!

That's true, but how do you put a price on it? You are, after all paying for the washing machine and not the warranty.

Due to the lack of publicity at the start of the promotion, there are quite a few people who have unwittingly purchased this machine on a standard 2 year warranty without realising that this "freebie" is there for the taking.

Surely, we at HUKD have a duty to publicise this, don't we?

I noticed Currys have 9kg 1400 spin LG reduced to 399 and it has 5 year …I noticed Currys have 9kg 1400 spin LG reduced to 399 and it has 5 year warranty. What would most people go for LG or Samsung Ecobubble both 9kg 1400 spin-both reduced to 399 both with 5 year manufacturers warranty. All help appreciated.

As I've pointed out on many recent washing machine posts, I personally prefer LG firstly because of the patented Direct Drive Inverter Motor. There is no motor noise at all during the wash cycle excepting when draining water. All you can hear is the water swooshing in the drum. During the spin cycle although you can hear the motor, it's still relatively quiet at 74db with very little vibration.

More importantly, however are the reliability statistics, but don't take my word for this, look at all the sources on the internet to back this up. For example, Which? rank LG No 1 in the reliability league tables at 94%. On the UK White Goods website under manufacturing information, LG trumps Samsung both on build quality and reliability. Finally look at the customer reviews. I have seen quite a few reliability issues on Samsung washers arising during the 5 Year Warranty period. On LG, this is rare and most customers are reporting life expectancy of 8-12 years on LG before problems arise and usually the weakest link is the drum bearings wearing out. If these can be repaired economically, you could probably extend the life expectancy further still.

My understanding is that Ecobubble is designed to work effectively with powder, rather than liquid detergent, so check this out. LG has other tricks up it's sleeve for cleaning performance, including the 6 motion system and some models e.g. John Lewis incorporate steam functionality on their £369 or £399 models. If speedy washing is your priority, check our the Turbowash models in Currys. Hope this helps.

Looked for a Washer Dryer amongst these but found none. Wishful thinking.

If it was just a typo I would have left it, but I actually think you made the mistake because you replied so angrily.

For some reason that I will never understand.

Please do not include me in that 'we' it is so far removed from a freebie, if as you imply you know general rules of this site, you get that free is not generally used when a purchase of £100+ is required. Purely rhetorical.

Publiciss it somewhere other than freebies, where it has now been moved to.

I think you're over exaggerating the benefits of the direct drive, at least as far as noise and energy efficiency goes. Eg.:

Both models are £399 right now.
I believe you need to register the extended warranty within 60 days my confirmation came by letter stating it had been extended to 5 years. One of the reasons I choose LG over Samsung was the bad reviews I had read about the 5 year warranty with people having problems getting Samsung to honour their warranty even when showing them email confirmation of the extension. It seems the warranty information often disappears from Samsung's system.

How long did your confirmation take to come through? I’ve been waiting nearly two months
Thanks OP. Will get our new machine registered now! It's always a pleasant surprise when you get something for nothing!
According to the list, my washing machine is covered. I bought it on April 1st and registered it on April 5th (after delivery) so should qualify.

However, I've got a question. How do I enter the proof of purchase? All I have are a series of emails from AO.com yet the LG site seems to want a file in anything but email format. Any help would be gratefully received...
I recently bought a Samsung ecobubble 8kg machine with 1400 spin, from AO. They all come with a five year warranty. Got free shipping, used a tenner off discount code and got another tenner off with cashback.
It works really well, much quieter than the outgoing one.
I remember in the 80's as a child, Washing machines as well as Hoover vacume cleaners to TV and record hi fi player systems all used to have 10 years garantee.
And things used to last for approximately 10years.These days it seems they manufacture disposable goods which mostly barely last a few years if you are lucky
Just bought one for £400 form JL last week, glad I didn;t purchase the extended warranty for £150! Thank you OP!!

By far the best machines available
Great post, thanks TheHun6 aka MrLG
Thanks for posting, bought a new LG machine last week.
Anyone know if the F4J8FH2W 9KG/6KG washer dryer is included?

Also, anyone know of a good price for this model, £779 is a bit pricy?

Seems around the mark that what John Lewis charge get them to price match, Next abd boots also have this need to check delivery costs etc. JL are a better than average retailer IMHO.

martindawes.com/ite…55E but only have 1 at this price?!

pricespy.co.uk/hom…588
This warranty means nothing, will never touch LG again.

The warranty is carried out by local firms, which going by my last experience were the worst bar none and solving any issues.

It took about a month to come as they process it manual. It mentions email on the promotion but they sent mine via letter. If you still haven't heard anything you might want to contact customer service and get them to send you proof that it is registered for 5 years and then you have proof in case later down the line they say they have no record of the extension.

As is the case with most washing machine guarantees it would cost too much to keep engineers in-house and have dedicated ones for each area of the UK, it's cheaper for them to use a third party to provide repair service. Only company off the top of my head that have their own engineers is hotpoint.

AO.com should have sent you an email confirmation stating price paid and so forth if you are using windows 10 you should be able to print the email to PDF and then you upload PDF file to LG.

Samsung machines are so flimsy. The doors are especially hilarious, I'd rather have Beko over Samsung.

Plus knowing Samsung and all the dodgy stuff they get up to I wouldn't be supprised it if wasn't listening to you 24/7 and broadcasting what you say unenrypted over the internet.
