Price seems attractive but would be interested what the congregation think vis-a-vis specs for a home DIY user.

I know the Ryobi ONE+ system is well regarded for it breadth of options for compatible tools in their eco-system. The 3yr warranty is also a plus.

Got a few ryobi bits. All very good. The impact driver is super cheap and always on sale. Haven’t got one of these so can’t comment if this is a deal or not
There is a Argos set on eBay with the next size up in batteries at 2Ah but unless you need it urgently I'd wait. With black Friday not too far off better deals will be coming soon. Also I personally don't rate that charger. Plus whilst the larger batteries mean an increase in power they add a lot to the overall weight. Finding the right option for you might mean a trip to your local DIY superstore to try one. It's better to get a package deal with 2 batteries, that way you can have one on charge but carry on using the device.

Fair points but struggling to wait till Black Friday as my drills were recently nicked and have a few bits to do - will try and hold out longer by borrowing from friends.

Funny how you tend to be drawn to the products which are over your set budget and spec requirements.
Is Bosch Professional overkill for your needs? Not as many tools to use as the Ryobi platform & those that are available will cost more. A LOT more. But the upside is better build.

The drill isn’t great and battery doesn’t last on hammer. Ended upgrading and getting the brushless battery 5aH battery and quick charger for less than £100 all on offer on amazon black fr
COLD, Not much point of getting a drill alone

Kits are better value, have other tools and will inevitably contain a throw away drill bundled, because few people don't have some sort of drill already.

Ryobi generally offer extremely poor value for money

Currently a offer on Bosch professional drill with replaceable brushes with x3 2ah batteries and fast charger for £100.

Miles ahead Ryobi which will be in the bin when the dinky brushes on its hobby motor wear out.
