The on-demand service grants access to ITV, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV, as well as catch-up content and the broadcaster's coverage of the World Cup.
ITV Player can be downloaded to the Roku Stick and other Roku-ready devices for free via the UK Roku Channel Store.The application is also available for free on Now TV.
and now tv will be rolling out software updates adding it to the roku store in the next 7 to 10 days

I had an email; from them stating this is now available ,but............................. no sign of it .Contacted customer service ,got some guy from foreign call centre who read a script and said it will be available eventually !!!! .Anyone know whats going on??
Also ,anyone know how to delete channels on this box things like bollywood central ,which has never worked?

You have to wait for the new firmware to arrive on your nowtv box, you can't force update. The update is being rolled out gradually. ITV player is not available until you've had the update.

The OP says will be rolled out in 7-10 days. I have a Roku and added this on Wednesday when i noticed a thread in misc about this now available on Now TV.

Also as a heads up, It also has BBC Sport channel on it now, so you can watch all world cup games, on ITV player or BBC sport Live.. I believe...

I preferred it when they had no live channels, sometimes I have a gap between my tv licence where I just watch catchup tv for a few months. NowTV was perfect for that, but now its going to have live channels?

Many thanks ,why couldn't the 'foreign ' call centre tell me that !!!!! .These call centres may be cheap to man but they really are useless ,would have been so much easier if they had just said this on thet're web site and also the email they sent out



Don't watch them then. You have a tv, computer and a smartphone capable of receiving live broadcasts but you obviously choose not to. Do the same with the nowtv box

The email they sent out gave the impression that it was available straight away. It's only cos I looked into it more that I found this out.

if its a now tv box to remove the channel/app go to the roku store..

1..top of the list look for "my channels"
2..find the one you want to remove
3..click on it and you have the option to go to channel or delete channel so just highlight delete then press ok

or on your remote, go left/right to the channel you want to delete, click on the "*"/asterisk button then there will be a pop-up with more options, then select remove channel.

With regards to the NowTV box, does anyone know if the new firmware will cause problems with Plex? I recall that had to be side loaded unofficially.

I've had it for about a week

I'm getting a little annoyed with HUKD. I posted this several days ago but it was removed from freebees, I'm assuming because you need a box but for whatever reason now it's OK to post it?? I wouldn't mind (and I've voted HOT) but there's no consistency with Admin as to whats allowed I've had it happened a few times now.

Thanks! I had no idea this had come out! - also spotted youtube is now a standalone as opposed to using plex app - i have roku 2, tried a chromecast but didn't see point when i already had this.

I got ITV channel on Roku but it doesn't show the live Worldcup, all catch up only?

Go into Settings / System Update / Check now and the new software version loads which has the new layout with ITV Player.

Finally got it, after checking for update about 30 minutes ago.

Sideloaded Plex also is still working.

Mine has just allowed a forced update.

well that was waste of time and effort !! .Am I missing something ?? only seems to be a tiny selection of ITV progs ?.
Can only see 8 progs from today and 2 from yesterday and thats it!! .What am i doing wrong ? loas of old stuff but no catch up ???????

i agree ,someone posted a blog on the nowtv site about having to update the channel list 3 or 4 times before all the progs appear??? also on the screenshots it shows broadchurch available on catchup but needless to sat no sign of it on search ,load of old rubbish ,not in the same league as iplayer 4od and demand5 ,waste of time unless for some reason they have made it a cut down verion on nowtv ,be interested to know what its like on a roku box

Steady on! Nothing wrong with ZX81 programmers. I cut my techie teeth on one of those. :-)

My Plex works fine too.

I was just hoping for the access to the live ITV channel streams as they have a higher bitrate than filmon.

Yeah, pity there's no ITV live stream. It might just be me, but FilmOn quality seems to be getting even worse.

Quality on the BBC Sport app live streams is top notch.

if you have the the new firmware you should see it in you roku channel list, however new firmware is riddled with bugs ,people complaining about buffering issues ,freezing ,loss of quality etc even the white light on the box doesn't work now ,its a joke as is the ITV content !!!!! hope there is some way we can go back to the old firmware which was working just fine !!!! anyone know how to downgrade to thre old version??

Even BBC Sports doesn't stream all matches live.

mind you they have kinda shot themselves in the foot ,if word gets out that its riddled with bugs especially buffering probs in movies, then people wont subscribe any more,simple as that interesting to see if they will do anything to sort out all the probs so ,On the Nowtv community site they are advising users to reset this, change proxy this, think of a number and double it etc ,At the end of the day it should just work as it used to !!!

Cold. Runs really slow on dial up.

Right now, I'm minded to vote everything to do with Now TV cold.

Last night I received an email saying "Thank you for purchasing a Sky Sports Day Pass". That would be fine except I didn't purchase one!

I contacted them to ask why they had billed by credit card for £6.99 when I hadn't purchased anything of the sort. Their only response was to advise that I should put a PIN on my account so as to stop unauthorised access. Nice!

So, no recognition that there could have been unathorised access. Nothing by way of apology for what could be a technical fault. Just an assumption that I must have ordered that Sky Sports Day Pass, so should pay for it.

That's not good, because I have never watched any sport on TV. Nor can I ever imagine I would do so. Just not my bag.

After half an hour or so of Live Chat, I got the suggestion to send them an email. Only when I asked for their address to write to. So I e-mailed, which has to be done via their online portal. Not an email address.

Today I received an email from Now TV Help saying "To assist you better and for security reasons, please sign into your account and send a new email. Alternatively you can contact us via Live Chat between 8am to 12Midnight daily:"

Frankly, I am getting more than a little miffed with these dudes now. They wasted an hour of my time last night on Live Chat, only to tell me to e-mail. So I email and then get that sort of reply. WTF?

I shall complain to my credit card company and ask them to reject the payment. All so stupid if a) they dealt with things properly in the first place and b) they just refunded the money that they took in error.

Surely they can check to see that not a single second of Sky Sports has been watched by my NowTV box. So why pay for a Day Pass?

Sorry for the rant. I really want to like these boxes, but that sort of "customer service" is everything it should not be.

Hence I would advice to avoid their service at all costs. Or check your credit card statements very carefully!

I had exactly the same experience, except they also claimed that I had watched Sky Sports using the day pass, even though there was no one home at the time. I argued with them for a week by live chat and email, but they wouldn't budge. I just gave up in the end, which is very unlike me, but I was getting absolutely nowhere, and it seems their actual service doesn't have a regulator to complain to, there is just one for the content.

Just had another rant at them on their community and received a refund, so it seems that's the place to go.

Don't give up if they've taken money from you!
