It basically converts a non-bluetooth iPod dock speaker to bluetooth enabled. You connect it to your iPod 30-Pin connector on the dock.

Ah, got it - thanks for that.

None near me, I'd have bought one!

Just to follow up on M0nk3h's comment. It enables you to be more "mobile" with your device instead of leaving it docked into the sound system. You can play music still whilst texting, browsing etc...

Actually there is stock in Scotland. Like England there is more to it than the main cities in the south.
Inverurie currys/PC world has stock.

Bought one last time, wont connect to Samsung galaxy s4

The only ones I found were Galashiels or Leeds, both more than 100 miles away

The only think you will have to watch out for is some 30-Pin iPod docks are quite sneaky and shut off power to the 30-Pin connector if it isn't an iPod/iPhone etc. Some will connect fine but fail to play music so just make sure you have a compatible dock. It should technically work with all but just beware. Main brands that won't work with these 30-Pin are brands like Sony etc. Mainly all the dear brands except Bose (weirdly).

Cheaper brands apparently work fine i.e my Gear4 HouseParty Rise. Oh and from what I can gather your dock HAS to charge your iDevice in order for it to work as in the dock has to charge an iDevice, not just accept data.

Damn, considered buying but my dock is a Sony. You've put me off now.

BTW, not out of stock in Scotland as stated above. Finneston in Glasgow has them as does East Kilbride. Hope this helps someone.

Just take my advice with a pitch of salt really. I'm only relaying information on from previous threads on this item. Some people commented saying these didn't work with their Sony dock but they didn't state which model they were using so it could work on older models etc.

I want it!!

Just my luck I've just managed to find stock near me on my first attempt of searching! (& I LIVE IN LONDON) TYVM OP, never knew I needed one since now.

These are brill and recommend

I bought an adapter to work with my iphone5 on my Phillips dock for £2.95 with free p&p and it works brilliantly! Has the lightning connector and the Jack to go into the headset port.

Yes I can confirm it works with my BOSE

Does anybody know if this will work in my Audi. I have a 30 pin ipod connection in the glove box, My theory is if I connect that to this, it will stream via bluetooth on my android phone, any idea if that will work?

Thats how it would work with a ipod dock so see no reason why not.

That's what I thought, thanks for your reply, I'll try and find one in stock, or buy the Ebay one posted above.

Would this work with a JBL docking station (doesn't charge iPhone).

Great if you have moved to a lightning IOS device but still have 30 pin speaker docks.

OOS

Don't think this supports APTX. If you want better quality audio, you want an APTX compliant one.

Cheap though ....

Just over a tenner .... amazon.co.uk/7da…MI/ .... if you want a 30 pin one with APTX.

Worth the extra fiver IMHO. I just switched all my Bluetooth audio gear to APTX kit and theres a noticeable improvement in audio quality.

(Obviously the device you're streaming from needs to transmit at APTX quality as well ...)

I bought something similar and it works with my JBL station. I stream music from my laptop to it in the kitchen. Bit off topic but awesome sound from the JBL unit.

Thank you!

If you're in Currys/PCW anyway it may be worth checking if they have any in stock, my local store showed as out of stock but found one sitting on the rail.

I've not been able to get it working properly with an Orbitsound T9 2.1 soundbar though, it all connects fine and functions correctly with a Sony Z Ultra but there's a constant hiss which is irritating. I've no idea if it's the parts I'm using as I've no other Apple dock devices and no Apple devices.

John

Good find but OOS near me.

It has reminded me to look for a similar device, so thanks
I want to make an ipod classic bluetooth so I can stream to wireless bluetooth speakers.
Off hunting I go...

Can u plug 30 pin 2 hdmi cable+bluetooth to your tv?

Johnmcl7

Welcome to non-APTX Bluetooth audio transfer.

The cheaper the receiver/transmitter, the more likely you are to end up with hiss ....
