Hi guys, I have just seen a deal on here showing the iZettle chip + pin card reader available for £34+, however I purchased this only yesterday for £19 +vat direct from iZettle.

Perhaps I missed something but why was this voted cold when it's cheaper than a current top 10 item?

Not unusual for that to happy.. as it happens this actually comes in a little cheaper still at £22.80 (£19.00 + VAT(£3.80))

PS. The purpose of this post is to hopefully help people save the extra £10 on the other deal and not to put the other deal down in any way at all. I have also mentioned the link in the comments on the other thread, however, as I often just click on the Get Deal link without reading all the comments I thought it may be worth a separate post.

Thanks for Post

Brilliant thanks. I already use iZettle and it works great. Just used the link to buy a second terminal :-)

Says battery lasts for 8 hours active use or 100 transactions, that's near 5 mins per transaction. Almost quicker to take a cheque, walk to bank and wait for it to clear

do you need merchant account to link with iZettle?

No, you only need an iZettle account. Similar in many ways to PayPal Here, but lower processing fees.

I've been through the process and I only get offered the Izettle reader for £29 plus vat.
The Izettle reader plus dock is £49 plus vat.

Same here? Registered as a sole trader aswell.

Registered as a partnership with full details Which makes it the same price more or less as the reader plus dock in the other deal I think, so I'm voting this deal cold

Ha, yes in theory, but says 5 seconds per transaction on their website. Maybe means 8 hours powered on and uses a bit more power to do a transaction, so will only do around 100 transaction on a charge. Doesnt seem bad to me

Didn't work said £29 after filling out all their forms for LTD company. cold

I think they've upped the price which is stupid of them, they should make more in charges than they do selling the hardware. I think this deal should be expired

Ditto.
bit of a deal breaker as wanted to get one for my partnership and one for sole trader. only really wanted them as an emergency back-up but not at nearly £70
got one free with my bank account for my ltd co and it was very useful last week when a customer had no cash and doesn't know how to paypal/transfer etc. got £50 for the sake of £1.38. would never have got paid had i not had that

onlinepartner1? shows the £29+ VAT price
Edited by: "DennisG" 20th Aug 2016

marking it down as the OP could have just added to the ORIGINAL one IMO!

is there something similar that prints physical receipt?

from the other thread:

We see some traffic coming to our site from here, and there seems to be some confusion with the offer.
Just to clarify, you cannot go directly to izettle.com/gb/…er2 to get the discount price of £19 + VAT mentioned there, that is an exclusive offer we are promoting so you would need to go to that page via the original link mentioned in the other thread, mobiletransaction.org/ize…uk/

Edited by: "DennisG" 20th Aug 2016

If I log into my izettle account it's coming up at £60 !

I have had had the free one for about a year for the shop and it's great !

Been there, done that, you get to a link saying £19 plus vat, but then it gets upped to £29 plus vat after you've registered, just for the reader (no stand)

you should just add a % on to cover the processing costs. Not your fault your customer didnt have cash.

Trying to get this, but like others above it's saying £29 not £19. I followed the link and made an account but only got offered it at £29 after all that. I've now seen the other link but I obviously can't make another account using the same details. Any way to actually get the £19 mentioned in the promotion?

Used the link but still showing £29+vat contacted them to check.

mine also showing 29 pounds
is this a kind of personal details scam site ??

Surely the biggest advantages of iZettle is that you avoid the soul destroying experience (and cynical money-making) PCI DSS Compliance programme which is obligatory win traditional card merchant schemes plus you don't have to deal with the charlatans they have working in the sales departments of places like PaymenSense & Worldpay?

How about a cheap compatible printer anyone ?

It's the consumers right I believe, to request a credit card sales receipt if paying by card

I registered yesterday via the 19.99 link and after giving bank details, business name etc and setting it all up it wanted to charge me 29.99 for the reader too.

The 19.99 page is hosted on iZettle's site, so I'm pretty unimpressed.

I've sent a message to their Support with a screenshot showing the 19.99 page.

I really dislike sites that promise one price, harvest data, then give you a different price at the end of the process.

anyone know can you type in a card number and take payment that way ?

I don't like the sound of this, especially the last paragraph - Basically you have all their and their partners junk mail or they terminate your service :

Hi guys, sorry I have only just come back to this. I've noticed a few comments here regarding the pricing not going through properly when trying to check out at iZettle, I think this is to do with the Get Deal link that was updated on my behalf. The original link went to iZettle's home page with the deal link being placed in the first comment, the reason for this is that to get the deal you have to go through mobiletransaction.org and click on the link to iZettle from their website. HOTUKD did not recognise mobiletransaction.org as a bonafide merchant so this was the only way I could post this deal. My apologies if this has caused any problems for anyone, I did try to make it as clear as possible in the deal title that it was important to use the link in the comments. In my defence the direct link was updated on my behalf and I'm sure the mod was simply correcting my post to make it work properly with regards to HotUKD's rules.

One again, the page you need for the link is mobiletransaction.org/ize…-uk.

The link doesn't work, it comes up at 29.99 - I am referring to the link marked 'Exclusive offer for our readers' - I signed up via this, the iZettle landing page mentioned 19.99 too, but once you've signed up and given all your details the purchase options are a 29.99 or 49.99 reader.

Hi bxboards, that is really disappointing. It does seem like the link has worked for some people but not for others and I'm really not sure why. Perhaps iZettle have changed the offer without notice, however it still clearly states it is available until 31st August and there are no stated restrictions, e.g. that you have to be a sole trader as opposed to a limited company or vice versa. Have you been in touch with their support directly? I shall contact them myself and see what their response is. I'm not sure what else to say really but I will monitor this and if iZettle are not honouring the terms of the deal I shall pull it from here.

I have been in touch but they do not work weekends so I sent them a message with a screenshot of the 19.99 landing page.

The link embedded in the article mentions the 'exclusive price' several times. The links take you to a 19.99 landing page, where you then go to Sign Up (high fives page), you then fill in all your details. are credit checked, accepted then when you come to buy the reader there is no sign at all of the 19.99 option.

I think pretty much everyone in this thread has said the link doesn't work. Unfortunately you have to go right through the sign up page to find this out. Even if you are on the 19.99 page and proceed from there, it still wants to charge 29.99 or 49.99 - there is no option to buy at 19.99.

That's really poor from iZettle. I just received notice that support is only available weekdays so will wait and see if they have an explanation tomorrow, hopefully they will come good as there are still 10 days left on this offer! I'm sorry this has happened, it all looked very genuine to me. Will update when there is some news.

It is poor of iZettle, and it's worrying that 'support is only available weekdays'. What happens if there's a problem with the reader at weekends? Nowadays, not everyone has a five day a week nine to five business.
