Sum up is cheaper i believe

OK this might be silly but can I can I use this for private (not business) use and do eBay accept this as a payment method or is this purely for physical card transactions? Thanks to someone who knows

You could use it as a private individual, however when you sign up you would need to sign up as a "Sole Trader" using your name. This is for physical card payments.

OK thanks, thought I might be able to bypass PayPal on eBay but it seems not.

Forgive my ignorance

Can you take payments over the phone with this card reader?. By typing in the information etc. Rather than putting a card in?

Izettle are 2.75% unless you hit their monthly amounts where they lower it

Is that new then? Izettle never used to be able to do that

Izettle customer services suck. I now use square, money next day and can send invoice emails and use as a virtual terminal for card over phone etc

What is easiest for the customer or are they all similar?

£19 is for the card reader only, the stupid white plastic stand is about £50.

iZettle is very easy to use, and you can have the account set up on multiple phones; the only downside is that only one phone can be connected to the card reader at a time.

They do charge a huge premium for hardware; I bought the portable Star printer on Amazon for over £100 less than iZettle want for it.

Actually, there is a problem with the software, it defaults to charging 20% VAT each time, so if (like us) you are too small to register for VAT, you have to set it to 0% EVERY time.

Make sure you change the setting of that. Also, make sure the software is up to date from the Play store or App store. Mine is set at 0% and stays like that always. Also make sure the reader software is up to date. There was an update recently for it.

All similar however, the iZettle machine is by far the quckest at actually taking the payment, especially contactless. It is instant. I have a SumUp (was Payleven), iZettle and Paypal reader.

For machine/software speed I rate:
1st - iZettle
2nd - Paypal
3rd - Sumup

For payout speed:
1st - Paypal
2nd- iZettle / SumUp

I use iZettle and think it's fantastic. It's really quick to use too.

I've also just logged into my account after it was mentioned the fee is 1.75%. It appears they've changed their pricing so with a few clicks I've migrated from the 2.75% to 1.75%. Excellent news!!

Thanks, I will double check what is going on; I got the Playstore update, but havent seen any indications of a firmware update to the reader itself.

Anyone know the percentage paid for over the phone payments?

Absoute Bull-twaddle!

I use this in my car and can even use my Car stereo via bluetooth while using the card machine.

I have FIVE bluetooth devices paired to my phone, including the iZettle reader, and NONE are "locked" due to the iZettle reader.
Please do not spout rubbish.
